Factory Alarm Removal WITH PICS

Let me start off by saying I read the Rs3000 manual and slee's instructions (in reverse) as well as all the threads I could find on here.

I have removed all the factory alarm harnesses, reconnected the main plug that had the relay connected to it and the truck is doing the same thing the others have mentioned, it cranks but wont turn over.

I don't see any other wires I need to remove or any splices or cut lines ro the ignition. Here are a few pics. Thanks in advance. Just ask for more pics and I will have them over and posted.

What year truck?

For mine, removing the harness would have done the trick. But that was for 94...

Here are some more pictures. You can see all the areas that were spliced into but I have not been able to find an interaction between the ignition like there is supposed to be given all the threads I have read.

You can see in this photo that a green and blue wire are cut I did we connect them but it did not help the engine turn over they go to the harness that goes into the driver side door.

Sorry if I missed it, was the truck running normally before you started working with the alarm system, or did you work on the alarm because the engine would not start??

Great question: Truck ran perfectly before I decided to remove the alarm.

Please post up your fix when you get the truck started.

I am between a rock and a hard place with this one and itching to get the truck up and running again.

Anyone know if I can run a new line to get her to turn over and run? How?

and SLEE if you are out there please help me out here! Or ANYONE else for that matter

Also note worthy is that the alarm unit was located behind the steering wheel to the right of the fuse box, which leads me to believe that it is not an RS3000 unit.

Probably not what you're worried about right now, but I would buy that T harness off of you if you don't need it :)

Good luck getting things running!

Find me a solution and I'll give it to you Free

Taking a few steps back I am starting to question what alarm system came with the car it does not seem to be the rs 3000 or the tvss system take a look at the pictures can anyone tell me what system this is? Amd I don't see any brand markings.

Definite aftermarket alarm where you found it. So, you are not working with what Toyota did.

You said it turned over, but would not start. That tells me that power to fuel or to the distributor is being interrupted.

I am going to assume it is coil. Look out near the coilpack for any loose wires that are not in the loom, or are taped into the loom.

If nothing, put a meter on the coil to see if you are getting power out there when you crank it over.

It looks exactly like the POS alarm I pulled out of the '98 Corolla I used to have.

I am not an alarm expert but here are a couple thoughts:

I would make sure your battery is fully charged before trying again. I was going to suggest checking spark, fuel and fuses, but 2fpower beat me to it.

Tape off all the cuts you made really well. You would hate for something to be grounding out and causing problems. The one I removed I actually removed the scotchlocks to inspect the wire and then tape over. In hindsight, I probably should have just resoldered a few of the wires.

I never had the remote for my system. There was a small toggle switch that I assume was bypass or something. Mine was not an RS3000. I'm not sure who made it even.
I removed all the alarm system while I was rebuilding the engine. Mine had a relay to interrupt the ignition circuit, right off the key switch. I removed the relay with all the harness and ended up splicing the wire that was interrupted by the relay. I believe it was a big white wire, maybe with a stripe, but I don't recall the color.
Look for stuff that isn't factory and figure out if it should be there.

YES! It had a toggle switch and there is a relay at the ignition. If you look at the earlier pic you can see it here. Great memory itt is white and black.

So remove the white and black from the relay and splice it to?
