Looks like the Harrop lockers are getting great reviews and being able to seamlessly integrate into the 100 using an OEM switch is SA-weet! Greatly anticipating what you do with this build as I have a stock '99 sitting in my driveway. I know this has been said ad nauseum but your fab work is art! Love watching your builds.

Thank you for the kind words. I will have a full on custom rack and bumpers soon enough. I have all the materials for the armor, just need some spare time now.

IMO, the Harrop lockers are the only way to go and are the most reliable and maintenance free. I hate air leaks! Then slow engagement due to cold weather and moisture freezing in air lines as well. This isn't an issue for most warm weather areas, but here it is a PITA to deal with!

Are these electric front lockers? What's the total cost to buy and install?

If you read the full post, yes they are e lockers and pm him for pricing.

Look forward to the build ... I just picked up a 00' LX of the same color ...

Good color. Mine has silver trim and bumpers vs the standard dark grey. Haven't seen many with the silver.

Ohhhhh very excited to see you on the 100 forum...

Also, Esme seems like she's coming along nicely. That Harrop locker would be my first choice too!

Thanks, the Harrop locker will be installed in a few weeks. Debating on what lift, tires and gearing right now.

Please divulge your ultimate choice, and reasoning, once determined. I'm in the same stage of debate...Just Differentials kit w/ Icon shocks vs Slee kit with Slee shocks, 33" vs 35", re-gear vs stock.

And I got the sliders. They are awesome. Box was totally mangled by shipper but sliders were good. Powdercoat and install forthcoming.

So, for about the past month on occasion I'll come out and have a 4-10" puddle of antifreeze/fluid under the rig. Like its burping, if that makes sense. All fluids seem to be at the appropriate levels. Pretty sure its antifreeze. Clearish, lightly oily and sweet to the taste. (YES, I'm a TASTER)

I've looked everywhere and can't find a leak/drip anywhere. THOUGHTS?

Where is the leak usually under? And this is only as it sits? Maybe a loose/faulty engine coolant drain?

It's strange for you to see that much coolant without a clear source. So I'm assuming it is something with a clear drip pattern. (No drip interference)

+1, first thought was a loose engine or radiator drain.

First, to try and help find the area, I removed the skid plate. Before, it would drip from one of the holes in the skidplate, but it depended on the angle the rig was sitting. SO, removed the plate and it is middle to back back side of engine more so on the driver side than directly in the middle. I put a new piece of cardboard under it this morning and it has sit all day long and not one drop on the cardboard yet. (I did this yesterday as well, without the cardboard, and it sit all day without a drip and came out this morning to a puddle on the driveway)

Rig is in the shop now and I will be doing some other work tomorrow on it and will report back. I'll check the drains. IIRC there is one on each side.

Have you checked all the coolant hoses going to the front/rear heater core? Thats not really a common place for a leak, from what I've seen. What kind of temps is your area seeing overnight? Hows the weep hole look on the WP?

Its really a guessing game until you can find any sort of trace of where it could be leaking at. Other guesses include coolant lines going to oil cooler, various gaskets/seals, etc. Though I would assume that since it only leaves a puddle after sitting all night it is a minor leak. An example would be a slight leaking hose union, causing that hose to loose its "sitting" coolant after a long period of sitting.

Lines, hoses and clamps will be inspected tomorrow. It got down to 25F last night. But, it will do this even if it is in the heated shop over night. Most it ever sits is usually over night.

Well drips at the weep hole. I can track the fluid trail back to where the puddle on the cardboard is. Everything else looks good. The water pump and timing belt were supposedly replaced at 176K and it has 184K now (This is per the supplied receipt that came with the rig when I bought it). So, I'm a little perturbed to say the least. Probably some cheap crap part, with some idiot that installed it... or a scam and it never was replaced, but charged for.....

I don't have time to deal with this right now, so I will drop it off at my local dealer and let them replace everything and baseline/inspect the rig.

Well I'm glad we could find the issue. Let us know if the pump was OEM or a cheap China pump.

Well per all my paperwork/receipts this is the 3rd timing belt and water pump replacement. Toyota dealers the first two times and then a corner garage -no name the last....

My Toyota dealer works well with me and will save the parts and will definitely throw the BS card if it was a shoddy repair.

J

Boo, that is frustrating. My 200 was leaking just after purchase, at least you'll know exactly how and when it was done and with know parts.

If they are comfortable with you supplying parts, we have an AISIN timing belt kit (with water pump and tensioner) that are ~1/2 the OE cost. We've sold a few to Toyota dealers directly :D
