Emptying Grease Tubes?

I have a pistol grip JD gun myself. What gets the most use though is the 12v Milwaukee.

As for the "spring splat" just make sure the open end of the tube is touching something, much more controllable. once you get a little grease out of the tube it would be very hard to lose the the grease.

Seriously? You have to ASK how to get grease out of a tube?

I guess rocket science is out, huh?

I used the grease gun tube with out the pump screwed on. You have to hold the tip of the tube in and be ready once you release the spring. Empties in a sec where ever it is pointed. Try your best to hold the release spring back to control where your shoving it.

If opening the tube like a candybar wrapper is out, this is what comes to mind for me too.

I'd do the candybar wrapper way myself for whole tubes - once you pop the cap & peel the 'tennisball' end, all you have is to nip the rings with a sidecutter & razor the cardboard tube.

I never appreciated the pneumatic guns until now.

You already have the Hobo Freight Bearing Seat Tool Right?

I used 2 tubes, squeezed like toothpaste into a gallon ziplock, remove air from zip and closed it. The cut diagonal corner of ziplock and slowly squeeze it out into the cavity. There is some waste, but it was fast and fairly clean. Plastic spatula to dress it up.

You guys ever heat up your grease before pouring in? I used to put plastic tubes of RTV into a microwave to make it easier to work with. Don't overheat, will burn the living crap out of your hands if you get it on you.

Humm never with grease but it does makes pumping gear oil much easier

You could push the grease into a baggy like someone mentioned above and then microwave it. Use gloves to handle it.
