Is this thing done yet or did by-law enforcement tow it away?
Hey F Jack, Hope all is well with you in Canada!

I am still in california, but I hope to return to this project and keep you up to date on failures. Thanks for your inquiry.

Ciao.

Ciao.

I’ll await your return to cactus-wren canyon country and continued pig inspirations. This has been posted locally and I’m looking for all of the reasons not to.

$7000 Canadian is about 2 6packs and an Arby’s coupon in usd.

Took a longer look at the truck after my journey to California. Turns out, the truck has disks in the front! Sick! @yotadude520 thanks for the front axle, but you're still welcome to come help drink beers!

I am tearing out the interior now, then it's going up to the upholsters on PHX this weekend, along with the 2 original wheels. I am going to sand blast and collect two more from Alvis. I plan on getting some military spec tires for optimum radness. Also while in PHX this weekend, I plan to rendezvous with @RUSH55 for a fuel canister and OEM shackles. Maybe soak up some 55 game as well. Since the rig took out my savings, I am left to do several little do-dads while while I save up some coin. Paint the rims, clean the interior, and buy a few hoses and belts for replacement of preexisting old crusty ones.

Anyone got the lead on a spray can color code for the grey? Need it for rims.

Hey man that's awesome! Makes your job a lot simpler in making it safe enough to drive.

Always down for a beer and to lend a hand so let me know whenever you need one!

Baby update:

Met @RUSH55 this past wknd to get some goodies consisting of oem shackles and a tank, reportedly in good condition. And also got blessed from the homie @Cruddz with a distributor assembly and fuel pump. I saved some coin on that, but also will take a couple steps back since my seats are at the upholstery shop getting fitted in Gucci. Sick mod.

Today I bought a grinder to rip through some dope ass patiner in the cab. I feared grinding right through the truck and to the ground. I just didn’t know where to stop. It was surface rust on chip rust. Does anyone know where it ends? To not leave it vulnerable, I sprayed it with some white paint/primer combo I found lying around. There was some spots that rotted through, which concerns me; I might not win all those car show comps . Sad

Anyway, I hope I can do shackles when the bushings come in, since auto fab is not my strong suit. Actually, I have no strong suit. In anything. At all

If you’re looking to have about the greatest time conceivable working on your Pig, you should break out some scrapers and screwdrivers and peel that tarry floor coating off! Don’t forget to spend some time (a lot of time) cleaning with soap and water and then a wipe down with lacquer thinner before painting. It’ll adhere better and last longer.

Man, I haven't been getting my notifications on my now favorite thread. To catch up, old wheels out back, new in front (sounds like the def for a mullet) would work as long as not a rotating need. That rust is minor I think. Do what @wngrog said and fluid film the crap out of it from here and the body will outlast you. My piggie is a '76, exactly what I wanted.

Haven't tried it but have heard dry ice makes the tar coating shatter with a light hammer blow

@dogfishlake Thanks for the encouraging words. At this time, I am very strapped for time and cash. Diapers are hella expensive. I actually spent the worse part of two weeks trying to install the front leafs and oem shackles I purchased from @RUSH55. I now have to swap the rear leafs and shackles and get rid of the stink bug look. I also got a gas tank from Rush, but have yet to install.

Please be patient with me. I hope to continue to bring the most wonderfully horrible write-ups on Mud.

Krylon Smoke Grey for the wheels. Almost perfect match.

Dude, I threw a party when I was done with diaper days!

Heading out to the High School Senior assembly now to watch my youngest finish her last day of high school! I'm getting old!

I wish I could take advantage of this three day weekend to do some things to the truck, but it appears that I will be heading up to Phoenix again to help install a 2f in Alvis' 40.

Thanks for the tip on the paint color way, I will be getting that as soon as I sand blast the rims that I have, and 3 more at Alvis' boneyard. The two that came with the truck will go up front, and the donors will go out back, since it is unknown what year that came from, and may not fit the disk fronts. Any recommendation of military tires? I have seen a few other threads but still open to other ideas.

@dogfishlake You might be getting old, but at least you are not a hipster.

Not sure it would work. The boosters are a lot different. The booster on my 76 is longer with a smaller diameter. My 60 booster is bigger diameter and shorter.
I'll include a couple of pics.

To be clear, I am describing brake boosters here.

Keeping my eye open for a deal somewhere to pop up! Something with Patiner and work to bring it back to life.
