Change of plans for me...Cat's going to make this trip, but it means we'll be at the cabin both nights-unless it is unseasonably warm that weekend. We'll see y'all at the cabin Friday night. Then we'll leave early on Saturday to meet the campers at Sugar Creek Gap campsite and wheel the trails with the group. Then we'll follow Marshall out the gravel roads, back to the cabin Saturday night.

Rick - highs for Fri/Sat accd to weather.com in Cullowhee will be highs ~ 60 and lows ~ 40 and take a bit off for being up on the mountain. I'm tempted to camp but showers at the cabin sound nice. I hope to stay out all day wheeling and then make it back to the cabin for night so we can caravan back to the cabin at night if that works for you.

I will be at the cabin Friday...the boys are off school so I am going to try and sneak out early. Probably wont make the wheeling, but the kids and I will be at the cabin earlier...probably right after dinner.

My Mom's having her hip replaced Monday, so I'm on standby for making this trip. If all goes well, I'll plan on heading up LATE Friday or early Saturday...any complications and I'll see yall next time.

I am going up 2 days after surgery...wooohooo

Sorry to hear about your mom John, hope all goes smoothly and we'll see you Friday night or Sat.

Hey guys we would like to wheel with you next weekend if posssible.
we would be coming up from the Charleston area Fri, so I would need info on when and where to meet.
We joined Uc and would like to ride with you guys occasionally. My son has a 72 Fj40, and I have a cj7.
We talked with David Davis and he said to post to get more info on the ride. Hope to here soon. Oh yeah, 2 for cabin and 2 for camping if possible

I don't won't be wheels down in Asheville until midnight Friday. If anyone is heading up Saturday we may come up and camp out. Hard to tell from all of the posts....but is everyone staying at the Bald on Saturday night? If that is the case we could drag the Kimberly up there.

Welcome to the club! Hope to see you at Cullowhee. Check out the thread @ https://forum.ih8mud.com/sc-upstate-cruisers/205019-winter-fun-run-game-plan.html.
It gives much more info about meeting places, times, etc.

You are correct sir, Sugar Creek Gap is Friday night's camp and the Bald on the north side is Saturday's camp.

Is there an ETD from the cabin Saturday morning?
I'm deciding I can't afford the vacation day Friday. I'll either come up Friday night or Saturday morning.

Bill not yet but I would assume around 7:30. Takes about 45 min to get from the cabin to the camping spot. I figured some will want to head out from the camping spot early sat morning and a later (slacker group) will depart sometime after.

yep we will be splitting into two groups as usual; one early one about an hour later.......

Bill it might just be easiest for you to follow some up Sat. because finding the road up to the Sugar Creek gap Friday night in the dark will be quite challenging as it is un marked; just ask Marshall how it went last time for him :D
