Finally done! Been wanting to build this for years now but didn’t have the money/Cad skills/time etc. So cool to finally be able to

Great work. Hoping to see all this in person at an event sometime. Relic run!?

Yesterday was an absolute thrash with all three of my techs and I on this thing from 7am-7pm.
-replaced brake master cylinder with fancy Wilwood unit
-Remade entire front brake circuit,
re located front line lock, cleaned up a -bunch of sloppy brake lines from when I turbo-d it, bleed brakes and clutch
- re located rear shock mounts, (had to modify exhaust to do so)
- re wired fuel pump
- mounted a new Charcoal canister on the bracket we make
-made all new AC hoses, completely re wired AC, charged AC
-installed driveshafts, shifters, changed all fluids, etc.

Just took it for a rip around the block. Have a few small things to tweak and finish but it drives again! I think this is the longest it’s been off the road in several years.

I’ll post pictures of the work tomorrow but the TR4050 feels amazing.

Anyone have a good clean right-side tailgate latch they can sell me? Mine is broken internally

Here’s a pic of the change we made to the rear shock mounts. I got my uotrsvek back but unfortunately this angle change really killed my damping, which I expected. It’s not undriveable, just way too soft.
Since I’ve had these shocks for +5 years now I think I’ll see if I can either send them back to Accutune for a re-build /re-valve or swap to a set of custom 2.5’s from Locked.

I also want to add a pair of hydro bumps where the shocks were previously mounted, and a sway bar like @BurntToast did on his 62.

Stiffen those shocks up. They're not gonna be super effective at that angle otherwise.

Straighen them back up, you need shock travel to make them really work. Maybe mount them down the axle tube midway so they do not drag... rather on top of the axle tube.

They are mounted in front of the axle on very HD brackets that I do not want to change which is why I made the change I did - I knew the angle would make the damping less effective. So I had to either live with either a shock that is too short and limits down travel or one that is too long and bottoms out. I've been driving all weekend and I would say how I have them now I would say they only need to be about 20% stiffer to be right.

New fancy brake master cylinder.. nothing wrong with what I had other then it dumping brake fluid all over my engine whenever I went off road.
Hopefully this seals a bit better
