Crank bolt tightness: RTH check me

In the communication tower world (and others) theres really such a thing as "snug tight".

"Snug tight is defined as the tightness attained by the full effort of a man using a standard spanner or by a few impacts of an impact wrench."

I thought it was a joke at first but it lines up nicely with the farmer tight principle. The engineers I work with gave me the are you kidding me stare when I tried to explain it to them.

Or the German Spec "Gutentight".

I thought that "Gutentight" was the standard for finding a wife not a torque spec.

So, farmer tight is an interesting concept but would that be Iowa/Nebraska/Kansas farmer tight or Sahara desert farmer tight?
