Thanks Dan. Damn. I guess I should mention it when I take it in for the airbag recall?

Dash recall expires the end of this month (May 2017).

Yep, though newer GX's are still covered (May 31st 2017 or 10 years from when the vehicle was placed in service, whichever is later).

For those of you who already had this done, have you noticed any pieces of the dashboard / instrument panel / glovebox / AC vents that don't line up right anymore? Any new rattles? Any damage to the plastic trim (marred by pry tools)? Or has it come back looking like it was never taken apart before? Just trying to balance the trade off between a slightly cracked dash vs. a dash where the pieces don't line up right.

A slightly cracked dash is probably going to be a badly cracked dash eventually.

I have heard that Lexus is allowed to warranty out any interior parts that break during dash installation, so I would take pictures and go through everything thoroughly before dropping it off (and then do the same when you get it back).

My GX is at the dealers for the air bag recall and they are checking the dash, I have zero cracks and it seems good, but I should know around noon

I just called my dealer. I haven't seen any cracks, but maybe it will qualify as "sticky"? They said just bring it by for verification before 5/31 to get on the list. Maybe I should pour some maple syrup on it beforehand lol

Just left the dealer, I have no cracks, dash on ordered. Also showed up with 1/4 tank of fuel and they filled it for me

I keep hearing about people getting their tanks filed - mine was quite empty going in and coming out, lol.

You might remind them, especially if its warranty work. If its warranty they should fill it as they will just bill the manufacturer.

for me this is a 215 mile drive to the dealer, so the fill was nice.

stop to see the service writer, he was at lunch yesterday and the shop said they see a small crack, I don't, but I'm old and need glasses, yea thats it. :-)

I put mine on the list last year to have the dash replaced. Check with dealer recently and they said Lexus didn't have any available and he didn't think Lexus would really ever replace all the dashes
