We used Lexus of Austin (Tx) dropped the GX off on Tuesday afternoon and it took til Friday. The dash job went well, makes a huge difference in the looks of the interior. They vacumed and wiped down the interior, washed the exterior and did a 145k service. All in all a great experience. Even let us pick it up on Saturday since we are about 1.5 hours drive for the place...
Gave us a short list of things that might need attending to in the future.
(We will be taking their advice, but not at Lexus labor rates.)
Remember ladies n gents, the dash warranty repair is 10 years from the in-service date, not 10 years from the announcement... Check when your truck was FIRST put into service to see if you are still within the coverage dated.

Had the dash replaced last week and got a 2017 RX as a loaner. I tried for an IS but they would not. I left it there with less than 1/2 tank of gas and completely filthy. Got a full tank and a half assed car wash with a vacuum.

The dash is all squared up and none of the complaints of misalignment. It looks like a real good job.

I got mine done last week and it is perfect. They deprogrammed my steering wheel controls on my aftermarket stereo but getting that fixed Friday. Happy!

Had mine done couple of weeks back, bought the vehicle on Saturday, took it to dealer same day and they had dash in stock, dropped it off on Monday and picked it up Tuesday.

They chipped the wood trim during dash install, they took care of it couple of days later, gave me full tank of gas for the trouble.

Parkplace Lexus Grapevine.

I'm just south of grapevine every week for work

I'm late to this party, but I'll ask any way. I have an 04 GX and my dash is starting to go downhill. Any suggestions for those of us who missed the lexus replacement dash? Thank you.

first of all: check your VIN history on the Lexus owners website - if there was ever a documented inspection for the cracked dash by a dealer, you are likely entitled to the dash recall install, even if you are now outside of the warranty period - if there is no documented history, it's still possible that your local dealer might do it [their willingness seems to be greater when the vehicle was bought from them] - alternatively, contact the selling dealer and negotiate with them

luckily, our DSRTGX (in Arizona) had the dash replaced already (Earnhardt Lexus) before we bought it in 2018 - our SWAMPGX in Louisiana required some talking to the Texas dealer that had done the inspection for the cracked dash (in 2015, still within the recall period - but then the truck changed owners twice in TX, so a new dash didn't eve get installed by that dealer), and then it took quite some whining at the local Baton Rouge dealer . . . but after some 4 months, they relented and installed a new dash for free in the fall of 2018 :steer:

Your experience may vary - good luck

and yes, my quote for a new dash was also ~$1500, before taxes - (got that quote from my AZ dealer so as to not tick off the Louisiana dealer to the idea that I maybe would be prepared to pay for it myself )

I got mine done during the "authorized" time to get it done at the dealer. Unless you have a documented crack or sticky dash during that window you will have a hard time getting it done. I heard they may extend the replacement, but I haven't seen anything lately.

I'm working on approval from Seattle Lexus on a new to me 2007 and should know next week if they approve!

Well? how'd that go? I have a new to me 05 that I've had for a year now and it does have a crack near the 2nd AC vent (right of the steering wheel). longshot, but maybe I'll give Lexus dealer a try.

Mines older than yours (‘04) but Lexus of Seattle (Lynnwood) did absolutely nothing for me when the campaign was open...

Has anyone tried a dash mat cover? My crack (started 11 years after the service date) is about 2" above the wood trim above the glove box; and I think a dash mat may cover the crack if the mat covers down to the crease that is about an 1.5 inches above the trim. I have looked at Dash Mat, Cover King, and Dash Designs web sites and the GX470 mat is listed but no GX photo to actually see how far down they cover. Anyone have experience with these mats that can chime in?

My cracked dash is just a hairline now but is getting longer. I think I would rather glue it to stop the growth and cover it with a mat and put the $1500.00 into mods.

I'm gonna ignore mine for a while. Maybe someday I'll remove the dash and re-skin it but for now it's not worth the hassle.

Does anyone have a guide on how to do this on your own? I was looking at rockauto and they have several dash replacements for ~$200-$300, but I imagine it is a very labor intensive job.
