I’m going to list out with photos of all of the vehicles we’ve brought in to date. I’ll try to link the build thread, if any for each one.

If you would like to know how much each of these costs, most of my build threads I include that, but if you don’t see it, feel free to PM me.

Pricing varies greatly on how easy the vehicle is to get, mileage, condition, rarity etc.

The first truck we got from Meshal is this amazing FZJ80. Low low KM that had plastic added to the doors and floors and seat covers over the stock seats from day 1. My friend here local has built it up nicely and we’ve tested it all over the US from sea level to 13,000’

Number two was one of the first 1FZ 75 series. 1
1992. This one came out of the mountains. It was a hay truck. We did nothing to the paint. Just imported it and then did all the work here. Lockers. MRR suspension. Bumpers. @DrRock purchased it and is currently taking it to the next level in the northeast

Container mate was this super clean 75 pickup. 183,000 k. We put the best of the best parts in this one. Brendan took it to the next level and has replaced every available small part he could find through Stedman in Japan.

The next one was a Troopy for my buddy Ben in Vermont. This was a big project that got major delayed due to the Oct 6 attack. It had to go around the Horn of Africa but eventually we got it.

@wct49 suffered along with Ben on the torturous shipping and finally got his cool FZJ75. He built this one at his shop. I get to use it from time to time when I drop my other vehicles for oil changes or tires

The next two were a couple of really nice shorty 70s.

One for @LDowney and one I bought to sell to a guy.

My mistake. I tried the whole “I’ll pay and he buys when it lands”

He ghosted me.

I ended up selling the shorty to Brendan after some
Great mods. It’s a good story.

The next two were an incredibly nice 1999 LX FZJ75 pickup and a cool patina FJ45 pickup for @DickM

We met at the port. A wild place. s*** was going everywhere. I had enough sway by then to let him go in for his truck while I was still en route

He ended up waiting around and I got to meet him and his insanely cool wife

The other was a crazy clean LX fj75 with super low KMs, electric windows, dual tanks….

I imported it myself for resale and Brendan found a buyer. Local to him. He took shipment almost 3 years ago. Has done nothing with it.

Time capsule. Maybe he will call me to sell it one day. It’s perfect

Meshal and Nolen are being modest when they described our FZJ70 as well cared for. Once I cleaned the travel dust off, it is obviously in outstanding condition and we have changed very little ... it didn't need much.
  • New tires and wheels
  • Stereo with flat screen for easy display
  • Rear seat belts
The only open action item on my bride's list is a custom wrap that aligns with her taste. Since she is very happy with her Cruiser, the wrap hasn't been a priority.

I don't recall any of of our brand new cars having such a clean/shiny undercarriage

With the addition of the rear seat belts, the grandkids enjoy riding with the coolest Grandma in the states

The floating screen stereo fits well with the dash and works very well for us

Full disclosure, I don't mind my bride having such an outstanding FZJ70 because I already have a BJ70 for my transportation. They complement each other well.

I failed to address our experience importing this FZJ70.

It was exactly what we could have hoped for. From our first telecon with Meshal, we had full confidence that Meshal was our advocate in Saudi Arabia. Working in parallel, Nolen shared his experiences and insights based on the Cruisers he had already brought in. This enabled us to have a clear understanding of every step and action.

This may sound laughable, but the only subpar experiences that we encountered were

  • Confusing status from the shipping company while the ship was at sea
  • Clerk at our local county license office making personal demands on the appropriate paperwork (state eventually ruled that what we submitted was correct)
From a big picture perspective, these were small bumps . Meshal and Nolen had spoiled us by eliminating all other hints of bumps.

A final consideration on how the experience working with Meshal and Nolen was ... we did it again. We purchased a 1990 FJ70 that is loaded in a container and ready for the next ship.
