Thanks for the URL on the fan clutch. It was especially interesting to note that new clutches don't have enough of the silicone coupling fluid. I am going to do some experimenting because my 2F gets a bit warm at sustained high speeds here in hot Texas.

Such well-written articles are rare, and need to be shared. I'm about to fire up the V8 in my 45 for the first time - also in sunny/humid climes - and from everything I've read getting all cooling components tip top is essential.
 
there's tons of information on the fan clutch fluid re-juicing here on MUD as well; a lot of those in the 80 series forum - search for threads "Tools R Us" posted in for information on various fan clutches
 
Good artical, read it before. But IMOP re juicing the FC is a waste of time and money, never been happy with the results. Get a new aisin.

However. ...the FC should not be doing much of anything at hwy speeds to help cooling. I would look into why it gets hot.
