I see what you're saying now Juan. Thank you.Hello,
That guy pulled the chain with his bumper bar. Had he had someone to help, it would have been possible to move the chain and avoid disaster.
In the roof top tent installation videos I have seen, the tent is always lifted manually by four (sometimes more) other people.
Juan
I see what you're saying now Juan. Thank you.
The guy in the video is me.
Unfortunately it's just me and I don't really know anyone up here in the desert.
Bummer, I think you had it just fine had you not clipped the chain/line.I see what you're saying now Juan. Thank you.

At this point I'm just about to buy this:Bummer, I think you had it just fine had you not clipped the chain/line.
Honestly I’d do it again but tie off the chain/line then get under it. I would also build some better angle bracing, but honestly you had it.
At this point I'm just about to buy this:
unfortunately no.Does your neighbor or buddy have a tractor with a front end loader? Or a skid steer?
unfortunately no.
May end up just renting one of these, I think a scissor lift would be too narrow for what I'm looking to do and don't want to tip that over either:Gas station down the road? hold a sign that says free beer, I need help for 10 minutes.
I’m just spitballing here. I want to see this top on Your troopy.
man, just brace your home-built setup better (more triangulation in both planes) and lift the roof a bit higher prior to driving under it and you're golden. I believe in you!At this point I'm just about to buy this:

Have hired a guy with a skid steer and forklift attachment to come out on Saturday to do the heavy lifting for me.Agreed. Without hitting that chain he was golden. More bracing wouldn’t hurt at all.
Looks awesome! The top is on! Here is where I left the Troopy yesterday. Got the top glued on Tuesday evening and then got the wiring and shelves etc. wrapped up Wednesday. Now the adhesive cures and I work on the turbo.
Definitely learned a lot, filled in the gaps in the instructions. Glad we had it set up in a way we could dry fit and then lift it back up. Ended up needing to cut down the roof pillar mounts to get it to sit properly. Getting the nuts and bolts on the brackets was a pain.
Now looking at ways to mount our Ironman awning and Joolca shower cube. Has anyone used the alucab brackets to mount on these?
