Sexiest drain valve ever!

Need to deal with some of this to make it safe. Not really functional… but safe. Hahaha

Got the manifolds on! Super excited about this. Used a thick remflex gasket. I really wanted the exhaust manifold to be grey per vintage literature… but finding high temp grey paint is hard! I ended up doing a layer of black and silver. Looks good! I especially love the SD40 that @mattressking rebuilt. Can’t wait to test fire this baby.

Found this old Toyota ignition switch a ways back. Had it fixed by the local locksmith as the pins were sticking. Did a great job! Excited to swap out the AF switch and return a OE switch to its rightful place!

@mrboatman gets credit for figuring out just using a cut down o-ring works as a replacement rubber isolator! Takes a bit of finesse but it fits. McMaster 9600K119.

Anyone know the bulb size for the map "vader" light?
I think its ba15s?

For interest's sake, does this replacement OE drain cock (as Toyota describes it) not screw in -

I was lucky enough to be able to save my 64's one so did not need to test but seems easier than to fabricate one.
No clue! I wanted a valve that had the hose attachment for clean and easy draining. :)
Anyone else test that OE drain cock out?

New fuel lines in! Peace of mind.

Coolant going in!

Where did you get the new fuel lines from?
Redline cruisers. They sell them pre-made with custom fittings to match the size and style of the originals.

Is this thing running yet or what?
Slowly chugging along! I need to get the exhaust down pipe fixed but I think the rest of the parts needed are in place. I need to hack off the pipe and get it fixed at a local shop. Shooting for the next couple days for that.

Bring it north and come drive the 4 on the tree while I fix it…..

One step forward, two steps back. As it goes. Filled it with coolant. Noticed a good leak! Leaking from the stupid thermostat housing. The pathetic OEM gasket is too thin. So I cut a new rubber one. Filled with coolant again…. No leak from the housing halves. Phew…….

Oh wait, another leak! This time from the water pump weep hole. :crybaby: So out it all came. Hoping to figure this out quick. Current pump is a old GMB unit, doesn’t seem as rebuildable as the OEM unit.
Also, LOVED the new drain valve. Slip on a hose and away you go.

Rebuilt pump in and no leaks in the static condition. :D

I love how you can take out the entire exhaust system from a FJ40 fully assembled. Hahaha. Took the assembly to a local exhaust shop. They fixed the exhaust gasket flange metal in 15min for free. Totally awesome.

Got it bolted back in! I am now in clean up mode. Hopefully test fire tomorrow.

Looking at that pic, I need to put that oil line in that clip on the steering box it seems. It's not as close to the exhaust as it looks... but it could get bumped over to it I suppose.
