some more pics.

This is the spot in the field we claimed. We got there just in time, 10 minutes later, all the other spots were claimed.

Kept our electronics and the fridge charged all night.

Then this guy showed up. Many other stopped by to check out the trailer, most had tents on the ground and they got rained on badly.

Having connectivity issues at the moment I'll try to post more later.

I know I've been slacking on posting up and updating. I've been busy, catching up on life, family, the new job and a ton of honey do stuff around the house. But here's a quick teaser pic.

It's still a work in progress and i still need to have the head decked and studded, so I'm at best a month away from getting it back.

Slow trickle of pics. The hot side is now completely welded and the remote oil filter has been relocated.

Mock up before complete weld

Notice the oil filter is too close to the pipe and there's barely any room to change it out when the time comes.
This is the solution.

One step closer to being done.

Been too busy for a decent write-up, so I'll let the pics do some talking. I ordered a second boost gauge, one that goes up to 60psi, might throw in some new injectors that are stock plus 50 hp. I have a short throw shifter. Basically waiting on oil lines and a few miscellaneous stuff. Gonna test it out then add studs to the head. Going to delete the air box and put in a larger air filter then wrap the exhaust.
Hopefully, this is ready in two weeks.

I'd put in head studs first, and then test it. Right now you can replace one head bolt at a time with one stud at a time (I'd follow the torque pattern for replacement and then do a retorque before stomping on it). If you blow a head gasket you'll have to remove the entire head, do some clean up work, and then install studs anyways. It's a lot simpler now to do the studs.

When you do start testing make sure your small turbo to intercooler connection is STRONG. I've had to redo that part three times because I was either blowing up boots or popping the tube out from the clamp.

What compressor wheel did you go with in the pic?

That's a 40mm billet wheel.

Well big red is running, needs a bit of tweaking but got over 30psi (The max the current gauge can read) with not much effort. Have some oil line leaks that need to be addressed, but getting closer.

That looks so wicked, I'm with Cim I wanna hear the spool up!

I don't want to push it yet until i have the studs in. But of course I'll post up a video of it when it's ready.

Nice. Did you put in an adjustable wastegate?
No, at least not for now. Once the studs are installed will come what I assume will be a long period of adjusting the pump and advancing timing to get the most out of this engine. I'm leaning towards installing the newer injectors without even testing the stock ones. My ideal setup is more hp and lower egt that doesn't smoke like crazy or haze. After all this is completed, I might have to revisit the idea of getting larger brakes.

Try an 80 series master cylinder first. I have a spare if you want to do some testing.
