I know my back up cam comes on and defaults back to EC Offroad when I put it in gear. I'm pretty sure the 360 cams still work the same as well. I'll double check when I get home. Not sure if I am remembering [360 cams] correctly on the 200 or the other rig.
When you come to a stop you can put on the surround cameras and set it to auto come on at each slow down. This is what I want to be able to do and have the unit go back to CarPlay after each instance.

Yes it does do that. Just tested it. I had mine turned off for auto slow down. I’ve never noticed this before but it blacks out for a second. I’ll have to email EC Off-road about that. If I just put it in reverse it does not, but switching from reverse to drive it does, I assume because you pass through reverse to get to drive so it’s confused for a sec? Unfortunately my back up cam is blocked by spare tire carrier. I just ordered a camera relocation kit - we’ll have to see how it is after I relocate.

Let me ask the same questions of Beatsonic that I did for the EC Unit. Does the Beatsonic unit automatically boot into CarPlay when car is started? Does it return to CarPlay if surround cameras are turned on? I assume it returns to CarPlay after reverse camera comes on? Will it search for multiple different phones on start up or only the last used one? Thanks for your feedback on this.
No, you've got to long press the up button every time to get CarPlay on, it does automatically boot everytime but if you want to see it on the screen, you've got to do the long button press. It does return to CarPlay after the reverse camera comes on. Not sure what you mean by surround cameras? Don't know about searching for multiple phones, mine is the only one paired with it.

In my car, the 360 camera will operate as normal with a Beatsonic CarPlay unit, automatically popping up at slower speeds and then reverting to CarPlay past a certain speed. Upon startup, you will be required to hold the “up” button on the left side of the steering wheel for a couple seconds to change from the OEM menu to CarPlay.

I ended up installing the Beats Sonic system, fairly straightforward and an easy install.

A few questions for anyone who’s used their setup.

1.) Is it normal for the screen to look slightly blurry? For example, the screen does not look at crisp as my wife’s 2021 Yukon.

2.) Sound quality seems slightly lower quality from stock. I’m wondering if this is because the sound is now routed through RCA jacks?

Installed Beatsonic in 2021 LC a few months ago. Seems like factory integration. Wish I had done it earlier and wish I could do it in my 2014. You can set it up to use the car Bluetooth for calls so you aren’t messing with and additional microphone to install. Sometimes my iPhone plays to the Toyota Bluetooth media player and I have to select the CarPlay option within whatever app I am playing sound from. I recall having to fight something like this with the bluetooth before the install, so this does not bother me that much. Now I just need to figure out how to add a physical control for the AC/heater fan and increase the mpg by 15 and I will have the perfect car.
I just installed the Beatsonic, read directions and did everything correctly. Pins set in the right locations, etc.

What I'm noticing is that the OEM sound quality, especially at high volume is way off (and yes, I did adjust the EQ). 'm wondering if this is because they're routing the sound through RCA jacks whereas before it was through harnesses. I love everything else about it (carplay is great) but I think I may return this. Sound is definitely very important to me. Anyone else experiencing the same when it comes to the music quality?

With the amazon unit I use the OEM bluetooth connection for the audio while still using carplay, and the sound is great that way. Does Beatsonic unit allow for that?

1). No, but you have to keep in mind the screen on your 2014 LC is a much lower quality resolution (I believe 720 x 480) than what is in a 2021 Yukon. Obviously, don’t know what Yukon you have, but assuming it’s the 10.2” screen that’s 1280 x 720 and HD quality. No matter what you do, the quality of picture on your LC will always be limited due to the poor screen resolution.

2). No, stock sound should be the same.

I've had all three of the major players, the EC Offroad, Beatsonic, and the Naviplus. The Naviplus is an absolute POS that I wouldn't recommend to anyone, and their customer service is rude and arrogant. The Beatsonic is OK, but that long button press (just like in the Naviplus) was a deal breaker for me and it kept crashing, so back it went. The EC Offroad is still the king of the hill as far as I'm concerned. I've had it for about 3 years now so I am basing this on the units that were out at that time, which may be somewhat irrelevant by now. When this unit breaks, I will probably replace it with another ECOR....unless by then someone has worked out all the kinks in the full replacement Tesla-style screen, but I doubt that will happen anytime in the near future.

I'm trying to find a stock screen replacement for our 2011 that has CarPlay. I just messaged EC to see what they have.

I have Naviplus. The local audio shop installed it. I wasn’t interested in a science project either. I also have a 2019 LC.
I believe you have had your Naviplus in for a bit now, looking at previous threads? If so, what is your experience. Are you using it and happy? I just bought the Naviplus unit but getting cold feet on whether I install.

I only use it for Google maps. I disabled the auto connect and only use the wired version. I got sick of the audio switching between the LC Bluetooth and the car play audio.

I have the Naviplus unit and it’s been installed for two or three years now. It has worked fine for me over that time. Occasionally when you pass some form of interference, it will cut out and it will require a restart of the stereo to reboot. This only happens a few times a year for me though. I don’t like having to long press the Maps button to get it to switch over to Naviplus. Not a big deal but. I also have to manually select my phone if my wife connected her phone previously. I use wireless all the time and I’m happy with it. my only other gripe is when I have the surround cameras turned on at slow speed. It will not revert back to Naviplus when I speed up. That requires another long press on the button to get it to flip back over to Naviplus. The reverse camera works fine though coming on and off going back to Naviplus. I would consider replacing it with another unit if I knew for sure, it would default to CarPlay over Toyota stereo on startup, and if it would auto select, whichever phone was present in the car and it would revert back to CarPlay after low speed surround cameras came on. At this point, I’m not certain that another solution exist that does all that and is as robust as my Naviplus has been, if someone has that solution, let me know.

Ressurecting this... So EC doesn't make one for the LX it looks like. Who is best for the 2016+ LX570?

I have the NIftyCity model Toyota LC200 2014-2021 Apple CarPlay & Android Auto OEM Integration - https://www.niftycity.shop/products/toyota-lc200-14-21-carplay-android

All cameras work as normal, can boot in normal Toyota screen or the Nifty City Unit. No issues, been running about two years now. Only thing I cant get it to do is pick up my phone hot spot to use the internet features in the menu, like Netflix. That is fine by me, I dont need that functionality. Going to the dealer I just flip the input to AM or FM and it stays in that mode until you change it to aux. Works great, sounds great and is compatible with the latest iPhone 15.

If you have two different phones that use this unit, will it automatically pick which ever phone is present or must a change in Phone be manually selected?

Still happy with my Beat Sonic
