Hey Kevin I'm still in for a 4 hinge valance please!

I have a 1978 FJ40 that I need to rebuild the entire back section on due to rust, this is my first attempt at doing anything like this. I will need the rear bumper, rear sill,
The 40 series frames like to rust in a few places but one common area is... well the entire back end of the frame. I have had an opportunity to reproduce the late model '79-'84 rear frame.

All in stock currently

79-84 model year Edit: These angle braces fit all years 1958 - 1984 40 series Rear Frame Braces - left and right - these are the often rusted out braces that triangulate the back corners of the frame/ rear bumper

$125.00 per set L/R + shipping

79-84 model year 40 series Frame Rail Ends - left and right - these are the last foot or so of the frame rails from about where the frame curve over the axle straightens out again. They have a built in offset to provide a bit of a fish plate and increase the weld area.

$90.00 per set L/R + shipping

08/80 to 84 model year 40 series Frame Gusset Plates a.k.a. spring perch plates - left and right - these are the plates that hold the rear end of the frame together and provide a place to mount the spring hangers (not included). I also make the earlier style plate used up to 07/80 (I'll add pictures next time I make some)

$90.00 per set L/R + shipping

79-84 model year 40 series Rear Frame Member a.k.a the rear bumper. This is the rear cross member of the frame and your tail lights mount within it as well as your bumperettes and/or hitch plate.

$245.00ea + shipping

Do you make this to fit a June 1978 build FJ40 with a after market left hand spare tire Mount

Kevin,
I'm new to all of this, we just bought a 1978 FJ40 knowing we would need to do SOME work, not realizing the the prior owner covered up allot. I need to rebuild the entire rear section and will need Rear Sill set, angle brace set, frame rail ends, rear bumper/ cross member and the leaf spring gussets just to start.
I've never done a project like this and I'm looking forward to it as this will be my retirement gift from me to me

Hi guys!!

Sorry for the crickets on my end. I have been out of town and away from internet service. I will be back in a week. Then I can get after it.

Never mind, buying elsewhere.

I responded just now to your message. Sorry if I've lost the chance to help you out. Let me know if you need anything else.

HI, maybe you can help me.
I´m looking for a tensioner bracket with pulley, a dopple crankshaft pulley, a a/c compresser bracket in the BJ42 3B engine to install the beltdrive. Thanks
Willi

I got mine from SOR. Factory A/C pulley and tensioner I used to add a 12V alternator. I called in and just asked. Was $70 like 8 years ago.

Kevin,
I apologize , been trying to buy parts then paying for them then told parts no longer avail. and I have to fight to get my money back....

What I have is a June build 1978 FJ40 and I need the following:
1. Rear Sill ..... $200.00
2. Rear Frame set $125.00
3. Frame Rail Ends set $90.00 ( Will this fit my 78, if so ad to order)
4.Rear bumper $245.00 ( Will this fit my 78, if so ad to order)

I can be reached at gary.boulter@mac.com to arrange payment.

Ok, I'm back on the case. I think that's the last trip this year unless some of the boys decide to go to Turf-n-Surf (love that trip!)

I am feverishly compiling lists of all the components required, my current inventory and who wants what and when. I will have it all pulled together before I hit the pillow tonight and can then forecast when each order can ship.

Thanks for all your patience!!

Kevin

Kevin,

Any chance you will start producing some LV parts for the FJ45 wagons ? Seems there is a major need for new metal parts. Seems the biggest issue is the back where the tailgate bolts up.

Hmmm..... I haven't been down in 9 years.... maybe I should throw some jeep tail lights on the 62... and fix the motor mount.... and cover over a couple of windows or chop the roof.....

I haven't been watching the 55's too closely lately but the last news I know was not good as far as body parts. Central America (Paul Pilgrim) went MIA with peoples stuff and Eshan (Pakistan?) disappeared after making a few rear lower quarter panels which I had an opportunity to inspect first hand. They were just passable but clearly hammered out by hand. Other than those historical items I haven't been keeping up on 55 events.

Short answer, nope

The 45 wagons have a rear sill that appears you could fabricate it easily with your skills, almost appears some of your different sills have the same indentation. Please check out the 45 forum and see what you think.

I could also forward you pics and measurements.

Sincerely
Casey

Talk to those folks in Gibbons... they're occasionally fun to hang with.

I'm looking for the same. Any leads?

Did you call SOR? I don't buy a lot there but when I have (seat foam most recently) I have had good service. I know their pricing can be steep but for strange stuff from across the Pacific they have lots of cool things.

Other than SOR I don't really know. Maybe Japan4x4 or I'd call Georg or Beno, if they don't have it they may know who does.

I didn´t find anything. Wrote e-mails to many wreckers in Australia and Canada.
The last days I was at "Buschtaxi meeting" here in Germany and found contact persons in Netherland, Hungary and South Africa.
If you want you can contact me for further informations: willi-preuss59@t-online.de
