Got my frame brace back from my buddy who welded them up for me.

He used a piece of 1”x1” square tube to reinforce the brace.

When going to Moab better be prepared! :p

I did the same. Good idea!

Well the Gas skid took a beating in Moab! It’s going to need some Hammer Time :Hillbilly:
The gas tank is by far the low hanging fruit. Tweaked the steel bracket!
This happened while trying to get up a ledge while my back end was in the water up to my bumper. I ended up getting strapped to get out.

Whoa..that's some beating!

Yeah, that's some beating. I was wondering if this is a design issue with the ASFIR gas skid plate since DanK also has the ASFIR gas skid plate. Or would other gas tank skid plates would suffer the same fate. Just wondering.

It's a trail badge of honor. Is there any problem with just leaving it as is?

It isn’t now touching the gas tank up front. I will probably wait until the Summer when I don’t wheel as much to pull it off.
curious what trail you were on, where you got strapped out of water? Headed to Moab in 2 weeks, with factory skids... :)

@nakman Golden Bar and Golden Spike gave my truck the beating and I continued on because our only option after doing Poison Spider was to turn around and go back out the way we came on Poison Spider. And I didn’t want to take away from the rest of the crews experience.

But to do Golden Bar and Golden Spike plan on an 8-10 hour day and I recommend you have larger than 32” tires, more than a 2” lift, a winch, and a rear locker. The waterfall at the end of Golden Spike is a 6’ tall wall that two made it up fully locked and two of us were winched up it.

I would highly recommend Seven Mile Rim Trail as the best trail, Fins & Things, and Poison Spider. Hells Revenge would also be better ran with 33” and taller tires with a 3”-4” lift.

Gold bar is a serious trail. The wall at the end...I made it last time, but chipped a rear ring gear and led to me getting the 9.5" diamond rear.

My skids take a beating, I am taller on 35s so I don't hit as much or as hard.

Just emailed them. Website shows out of stock...

One of them did for me when I placed my order as well but the website still let me add them to my cart. I ordered on a friday and received an email sunday night that would get them shipped out I had them in my possesion a week and a half later

Asfir's site is showing all skids are back in stock in case anyone is interested.

Also, their front skid completely covers everything the two factory front skids cover, correct?

Why is the side cut out like that? is that for oil filter access?
