Are any of you daily driving their 80-Series?

yes even running super unleaded on 37s

I DD mine 20 miles a day since I bought it two years ago. Have put on over 30k during that time. It hauls three kids and we often take it on long trips over our sequoia. I do have a 40 but with three boys I only get to drive it when I can go alone.

Not any more. I drove it as a daily driver from 1997 until about 2014 hence the 280K on the odometer. Decided I wanted make all of the modifications I have made last the rest of my life so I only use it for hunting, wheeling or "projects" that require a tough vehicle.

Of course, I am still spending money on improvements, it seems a never ending compulsion!

360k tells the tale

If you have seen my build, I have had mine for 8 years, and a DD since then, I have done an upgrade to improve my mileage and HP and I am so much more in love with my 80, bought it 100K now 255K :meh:

I use mine for all my trips including the daily commute and also any of the longer trips i do by road (Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Tampa etc). Gas here is around $2 /gallon so not worth worrying about.

My 80 has been pulling mostly weekend-warrior duty, hence 135K on the clock. In the interim, my DD has been an '88 Camry, 01 Civic, and currently a '13 Sonic (LTZ with Turbo and 6-speed manual, so it's sort of fun.)

But with gas now cheap, and the fact that I'm moving 300 miles away soon. the 80 has been seeing more road time, most longer highway miles, mixed with shorter local trips.

Now that I am driving her much more often, she is running as good as she ever has, and this is with absolutely no engine work or tune-up whatsoever; I'm not sure I have ever changed the spark plugs!

I daily mine, but my commute is only 7 miles round trip.
I have the choice of one new and one older VW Golf and I always go for my LC.
I have had a lot of cars since I turned 16. I lost count somewhere around 45 cars. There have only been two vehicles that I have ever double on. You guessed it a 94 Toyota Land cruiser and VW Golf's.

I daily drive my 80 and love it. I don't know why but I just like driving that rig. I've put 10,000 miles on it since April. I was driving the Evo yesterday and thought... man, I kind of feel like driving the 80.

My wife drives her 97 CE Fzj80 everyday. She puts 60 plus miles on it 5 days a week, and we use it as the road tripper. I told her we could get her a 100, but she said she would rather have "her solid front axle, reliable 80" . Now we need to get a parts 80 so we can keep our pair driving for years to come.

Every day unless I'm on the motorcycle, but that only lasts so long in NH.

I bought mine 3 months ago and I haven't driven My 40 or my 2015 f150 since. There is something intangible about driving the 80 that I can't explain.

I drive mine every day, I do a minimum of 13km per day. Mine is diesel and I dont feel bad about the consumption and YES it will take me wherever I want. Never had a problem finding a part.
