Would love to see some more pics of the driver and passenger side floors and transmission cover (without carpet/mats) so I know what they're SUPPOSED to look like. :)

Done polishing, going to car wash and blast off all the over spray and scrub the bolts with tooth brush,,,,

I do, I dont do any full paint, rust repair or any of that. What you see above is what i am good at. I like to find the ultra rare, low mile, one owners if I can and bring them from a nice original to a pristine FJ40 that needs nothing. I do this in my spare time. It is now 6:30 am and I have not gone to bed. My days days off I runn the days together and do what I can.

Heres the finished product. Pics wil be much better on the day light,

Wow. Cruiser porn at its best.

So how much, and when can I come pick it up? :D

Seriously, though. Would you tell us what you paid for the cruiser, what you put into it in parts and labor? Curious what it take$ to put together a minty FJ40.

I hope whoever gets it will truly appreciate it. Do you screen your potential buyers to make sure they are true cruiserheads?

:bounce:

The last buyer owns several medical supply companies in Miami. He had a 40 all through school.
Other is a pharm rep and wanted a 40 for his bird hunting plantion in Gorgia.

Before that was a Dr. in Denver.

Before that was big cruiser head that is well known.

Before that was a big wig for Intel.

Just to name a few....

I have about 4k into this in the past 3 weeks.

Alignment this morning and install the muffler.

Installing bumperetts and tearing out the trailer plug now.

1. What's the reason for the crank bracket?
2. Can I assume that the close-up of the bezel and the top photo show the accurate color?
3. When complete, will you please post a 360 walk-around of the vehicle. I'd love to see this from all angles.
Beautiful work!

Why to hold your crank of course! :-)

You can use a Z shaped 'crank' to actually start and FJ40. You slip the end through that bracket that has a Nissan logo shaped hole in it and it engages a special nut on the crank shaft harmonic balancer. If you are strong enough and lucky enough when you crank the engine over with the key on it will fire. The special nut is designed to release the crank rod after the engine starts so it won't break both your arms...

Hey Shane - I am sure you answered this someplace already but
1. What type of plating do you do on the hardware? (not the awsome powder coating but the gold looking stuff) Curious what to look for in my area.
2. Also what kind of prep needs to be done?
3. Last, are you re-using a lot of the hardware or simply replacing it with new stuff you have had plated?

1. What type of plating do you do on the hardware? Yellow Chromate, APEX plating in PDX
2. Also what kind of prep needs to be done? Inside clean stuff as is, get all the grease and such off. I use a glass media
3. Last, are you re-using a lot of the hardware or simply replacing it with new stuff you have had plated? Both
