Thanks so much for posting, that rig looks fantastic! Do you do the plating of the hardware yourself or do you outsource it?

Long live the smurf blue cruisers!

Sent it out to APEX plating in Portland.

THANKS!

Warn hubs were dealer installed during PDI. It had them when I got it. Aisins are no longer available as I did check. So I did the next best thing and that was new Warns. This will never get wheeled, but either way it sure looks good.

Definitely no arguing how that truck looks, nice job! Aisin hubs for 76-78 are hard to come by. I've only ever seen them on FJ55s.

But I did try ken!

I have tried to buy a few sets and rebuild them from old stock photos for my newt one.

I got an 81 up next and trying to get another as we speak.

Shane,
I am in Portland and sarting a "driver resto" on a smurf blue 78. Would it be possible to get a CD of all the pictures you have of that thing... Or better yet let me come buy (or meet you someplace) with my own camera.

I have a car hoist in my garage if you want to document the undercairage.

Chris

Let me know when you want to meet up.

man dont mean to be rude but .lucky bastard totally sweet;) :D

:flipoff2:

I just made it up with an 1980 sky blue I bought yesterday. perfect for a restoration. And it has a factory PTO :D

Its not high for what it is. It's not a 70k TLC resto, it's a MINT survivor.

Every time i get out of it I think what they hell am I doing selling this? And so does everyone else who see it.

I went out to dinner with RIDDLER after picking up another FJ40 the other night and he came over the next day to check it out. he said thesame thing I have been thinking. Complete my restoration and sell and keep this. But I cannot afford to do so.
