Finally joined the club... took the ebay route and am happy. Wishing I painted it a charcoal now instead of black...

I plan on doing this when I put my Iron man bumper on. I already have the 70 series Toyota emblem. I've been waiting for them to re stock the black grills. If they don't get some soon I may get a chrome one and paint it black or maybe a titanium color to match my wheels. Truck is pacific blue so the titanium might look better

I have a chrome one that I painted black. I used SEM products, and they didn't recommend a primer with the Trim Black product. There are some thin spots on hard edges. If I did it over, if use a primer first. I scuffed with a 3m pad and cleaned with their xxx universal surface cleaner per their instructions.

Did you find a black one or did you buy the chrome one and paint it?
Bought the chrome and painted black. Used a primer+paint can
Sanded it a bit to scuff it up first.

That blue is gorgeous. Wow.

Parts came in! Now for some paint. Mesh grill ( soon to be black) and a 70 series emblem. And I got my bumper done. Wish the grill would have gotten here while it was already apart. Oh well

I’m officially a member of the black grill club. Lots of scotch brite pad and then a coat of Fusion plastic paint. Didn’t love it so I did a can of plasti cote premium spray bed liner. Love how it came out.

How much are you guys currently paying for these grills if you don’t mind my asking? I see @Markuson original link for an $82 grill is now up to $500 from the same seller. I assume they keep raising the price on every listing until the find the ceiling

I bought a chrome grill for around $70 and painted it black. The black grilles definitely run for a premium on ebay.

Looks great! Has anyone ever color matched the perimeter? I have a red 2008 and am going with this grill only I thought it might look good to paint the perimeter red to match.
I sure would like to see this!

My grille is sitting in the garage growing spiders because I can't decide how I want to paint it. The only thing I know is it MUST be painted, glossy black on red LC is not a good look.
