A better picture out of the garage. I would prefer the Toyota in the middle, but then I would get PCS errors like crazy covering the radar. I am look at moving that higher or lower

I wanted it down more so I took apart the grill again and lowered the Radar device on the bracket. I had to move one insert for one of the holes to one *The one I am pointing to) that didnt have an insert so I could run two screws through it. I also used two zip ties to help stabilize the radar. I also had to take the bracket off you can see to the left of picture. When I lowered it and tightened the screws it created interference. Note you have to lower it rather than flip as the connector wont fit if you flip it

I will run it for a bit and see if I get an PCS errors or if it works for the adaptive cruise control. I will have plenty of opportunity to test on my way to Moab. It was able to lower the Toyota symbol to the middle of the grill. I also dremeled the back so it would sit easier against the grill

before and after. You can see the horn just under the A in the first pic and the A is in front of the horn in the second pic

Zip-ties strike again! Looks great. Hope it works. I guess one "benefit" of having an 08 is...no radar cruise control to worry about... :hillbilly:

Well done! Will definitely like to know if it works in the new position.

Romer, you have lots of stuff on the front of your truck - maybe it would look better without the TOYOTA badge?

I don't think so :D

What kind of errors? Mine is centered and don't get any?

Someone earlier mentioned they were getting PCS errors. I get those when it snows and the somberero gets covered. Maybe I didnt have to move this at all and should put it back the way it was?

Appreciate the input Cody

Every now and then (not every time I drive the vehicle) I get a "PCS Unavailable" warning. It usually lasts 5-10' then disappears. The badge (smaller size) covers the lower 1/3 of the radar.

I remember looking in the Toyota online Tech Info site (https://techinfo.toyota.com/techInf...urce_url=https%3A%2F%2Ftechinfo.toyota.com%2F) at the procedure for aligning the radar device - it is very sensitive and a detailed alignment procedure.

I would suggest that anyone thinking about changing the position of the radar device, even slightly, should take a look at the procedure for aligning it.

Just a thought.

Sounds good. Yeah I only get that error when snowing or heavy rain also. Which I would get with the oem grill as well.

Spring time in the Rockies. I went to Costco and didnt have any PCS errors and the Radar Cruise control features appeared to work. A better test will be my drive to Moab in the morning. I do like it better centered

On the way to Moab I did have intermittent PCS errors and other times it worked fine on Cruise control. It isnt very stable the way I have it with two bolts and zip ties. I will look into it. I may just disconnect it as I dont use it much

PCS is a Pre-Collision System. Admittedly (and thankfully) nobody should have to use it much, but do you really want to be without it?

Just sayin'

Gotta be the zip ties... :)

If you have zip ties...maybe get rid of the bolts?

I was thinking about buying an original emblem for the aftermarket mesh grill to be done with the radar issue. That was until I saw that the OEM emblem alone costs $371. Yikes!

Emblem - Toyota (53141-30120)

These black hex grills look pretty good. I think I'd probably want to see one in person before making a decision...

Different topic but has anyone blacked out the oem grill? I'd be interested in seeing how that looks.

I like the mesh but ended up going a different route. Not exactly the OEM grill, but similar idea.

These grills are low risk. Only about $80-90 bucks.
