Ordered a headliner and visor covers from SOR yesterday. Will be a few years before I need them but the way this stuff goes in and out of production I am taking the attitude of buy while you can.

Wish I knew. I got a Brand new one collecting dust. I'll never use it.😎

I didn't even think to ask. Their price on the headliner isn't bad at just over $200. The sun visor covers were a bit OTT in my opinion at $60 but I will need to eventually do something with mine.

This little fellow followed me home from the car souq today. August 1994 FZJ75. I think he’ll be on a ship someday soon.

Have a new 55 amp FJ60 alternator ordered from @FJ60Cam. Now I just need @Coolerman to wade in here with a wiring connector recommendation from his website.

Actually I think it's pretty clear what I need.

The thread on floor treatment reminded me to look for some mat material for the cargo area. Apparently my pig had the original mat when sold to BBQboy but it was misplaced at some point. Not sure how one manages that but nonetheless I would like to get something down back there to keep stuff from sliding around.

I don’t recall seeing anything specific in any of the build threads i’ve read but certainly open to suggestions if someone has something they are happy with.

I have poked around the internet a bit and found some nice looking “trim to fit” designs but none of them strike me as being heavy enough. I’m picturing something 1/4” thick and a bit soft like neoprene.

I used heavy duty gym floor rubber mat in the back of my 40 and it works great. You can get it in 1/4 inch and thicker variants. I bought a roll 4ft x 5ft and 3/16th thick and trimmed it to fit. Nothing slides on it and it can be pulled out and hosed down. It also reduces the noise somewhat.

That sounds similar to what I was dreaming up. Thanks

I bought a mat....I think it was from @TRAIL TAILOR

I’ll do some research. Was it tailored for a 55, pun intended, or just generic?

This one looks promising. I assume our cargo areas are no more than 4’ deep? I haven’t measured mine.

I found some of this stuff that I’m going to be using for a couple applications. Diamond pattern, 1/4” thick. Not sure yet where else to find it besides here.

Just in case you get struck by lightning? 🤣

American floor mats are awesome. Have them in the house. Depending on size, can hold gallons of water 👍

We have been in London for a week and are now in Cheshire. Rented a house in the countryside to spend Christmas with our children. We lived near here for 7 years and my wife and daughter had grown nostalgic. Fairly convenient place in the middle to meet. Decided as long as I was here I might as well rent a Defender 110; goes well with our Barbour jackets. Man I had forgotten how cold and wet northern England is in the winter!

Went to the Christmas market in Manchester yesterday and saw a fairly unusual, repurposed Defender 110 pickup.
