WTO won't rebuild Toyota boxes anymore. Redhead does nice work and they warranty them. Turn around is quick too.I filled out their quote request form so I should know pretty soon if they will rebuild one. Wasn't sure about which finish color(s) to select. They have about 6 different options. I chose satin black body with polished head. Looking at my box, my best guess would be cast steel/iron for the box and satin black for the head. I might just go satin black all over assuming they will rebuild it.![]()
I’ve always taken the bellhousing off and bolted the back of the engine to the stand. Seems like leaving the bellhousing would make it unnecessarily front heavy.
Thanks to you both. Guess it would still be easier to drop the transmission first and then lift the engine and bell housing? I can then unbolt the bell housing and bolt the engine to the stand while it's suspended from the lift.Yeah, bellhousing off when on the stand
Yes, the tranny is easy to drop. 4 bolts, a crowbar, and it's out.
The bellhousing supports the engine along with the front engine mounts, so removing the transmission is easy this way. You need to remove the clutch and flywheel before you can take the bellhousing off. If you can still lift the chassis on your hoist it's easy to do from the underside once you have the transmission off. Just make sure you have it secure on your lift.Guess it would still be easier to drop the transmission first and then lift the engine and bell housing? Body will take at least that long, btw.yes, yes, yes, and yes
I can only imagine...for internal engine components it will be cool to hear what is available and selected for the buildBody will take at least that long, btw.
He will build mine. Nothing wrong per se with my 2F. I just thought now was the best opportunity to improve the drivetrain.Does he build your 2F or you bring it in as a core when you pick up his build?
That’s about 90 miles from The Peabody. If you take HWY 45 up to I40, I'm 10 miles north of that intersection.
