On the topic of hosting additional HIH events - I believe Arkansas would be a great option IMHO. Now yes of course I'm bias towards the state I was born, raised, and currently reside in - but we are literally "The Natural State" and between the Ouachita and Ozark NF there're 1000's of miles of incredible trails that would be great for an event like this. Granted none of them are hanging on the edge of a 500ft+ dropoff (except for 4 spots I know of), but there are plenty of water crossings and a mixture of trails similar to that of HIH ranging from beginner to expert. The local club to me is Razorback Land Cruisers and I'm sure we could cobble together a few guys to handle the logistics of an event. It wouldn't be even close to the same scale as HIH with 100 trucks, but maybe 50-75 with trail leaders being the ones who frequent the trails in those areas.

Just some food for thought!

So all you newcomers! Where are you all leaving from???

I also have to know who is driving through Northen Colorado on the way to Silverton in case my regular beer carrier didn't make the cut! :) don't know yet!!! More specifically Fort Collins :)

This is how the dust settles sunday evenings here in Palm Springs CA:
All kids in bed, third Margarita being sipped on, House of Pain swinging the tunes, a batch of Texas style sweet cornbread happening while the week lunch is also being prepped up! :) cheers. #singleparentlife

This will be my first time going. Bought my lx470 in July of last year and have been looking forward to this event ever since. Will be driving from Littleton, CO.

I bought my Cruiser in June 2013 in Littleton CO and was attending HIHs 3 with temporary tags, 2 small kids and a pregnant wife in July! Somebody smack me please!!!!

My seven year son and I are coming from Lafayette, Louisiana. My cruiser addiction started my sophomore year 1989 with a 1972 FJ 40. I am a member of Bayou State Land Cruiser and very excited to make the trip. Our club went two summers ago but unfortunately couldn’t make the trip.

Looking forward to making new friends and sampling brews for around the country. I am 5 minutes away from Parish Brewing and would be happy to mule Ghost in the Machine or whatever seasonal IPA they have at the time.

I'd definitely be up for another type of 100 series only event in the Ozarks or the Smokey Mountains or somewhere like Windrock ORV, especially in the fall when the leaves begin to change. I'll leave that discussion to the other thread for it and leave this one for HIH9 related talk.

Hey man! I’m in Arkansas too! And I have had the same thought myself! I think the biggest problem would be that so many of the trails that we have are super narrow. My 100 is pin striped like a mo fo because of the narrow trails. But! Yes, you are right...we have plenty of places that can hold another event. I would imagine something around the Thanksgiving holiday would be a good time of the year because of weather.

But yes, this is a subject for another thread.

First timer here. Coming from San Diego. Tried to get in last year but didn't make it and excited to have got in this year. As far as making it bigger, if it was more than 100 vehicles I honestly don't think I would have a lot of interest in going. In fact I'm bummed I missed out on the years where it was smaller. I've seen events get ruined by their growth to the point its just a drain on everyone. Just my 2cents. See you guys in July.

HIH Moab would be cool too!
