I can’t believe how s***ty my injectors were performing. I didn’t know I had anything wrong. In fact, I thought my cruiser ran beautifully.

100,000 land cruisers are going to be off the road while everyone sends out injectors for flow testing and cleaning lol

Progress is slow. I still have to drop my head off with my machinist. He will have it for a couple of weeks which sucks because I have to go out of town at the end of the month for about 30 days. So buildup will be delayed until March.

This is about $500 worth of lifters. FFS these were difficult to source.

In other news, since I can’t find any reputable painters nearby, I’m towing my cruiser across the United States to @kelly saad finally. After flirting with him for 2 years, I finally sent him a deposit and he will use his talent to bring my cruiser back to its former glory days. Probably better than the original.

Paint color is still out for decision. I love the emerald green. I do. It’s just a little too bright for me in full sun. The wife and I have a date to go to a European car dealership or two to check out colors in person. I’m partial to one end of the color spectrum or the other. I love black and white. We will see what happens.

European??? I’ve become a fan of white on cars. There must be several reasons why it’s, by far, the most popular automotive paint color.
Also white cars go faster…

Your engine looks clean my friend. You know it’s a sign of growing mud OCD when you think something like: I should pull my engine like Pell so I can make it shiny and new. I mean I do need to fix my rear main seal. I leaks a few drops a week…

Then I read about sourcing parts and I think, that’s a journey I’m not ready to take voluntarily. But I’m stoked to see you elbows deep into this. It will be awesome when you have a brand new 1FZFE. Then you can justify the engine swap on the other one….except if I know you you probably have a turbo or SC in your parts horde.

Also is that 2 stage paint on your oil pan? It’s way to shiny FFS!

Impressive work. You’re killing it.

This stuff has just been waiting for this opportunity. She’s getting clear glass all around. My rear quarter glass needs cleaned up. She has some 30 y/o stickers and tint on it.

All new window seals, gaskets, felts, moulding all around. Ain’t skimping on this portion.

Thanks, G; you're doing a lot of good work too! I enjoy sourcing parts, but it does get frustrating at times. Especially when I get drunk and order this stuff. No one needs 30 each front fender clips and an assortment of whatever the hell else is in this pile:

Why is that? Personal preference or something more objective?
To retain the highest value.
There will always be some of the original color on the car.
If done correctly it will be hard to tell it was ever repainted

I agree - having owned a body shop in my distant past i used to try and talk people out of color changes. If i was going to color change myself i would strip the interior and pull the body off and completely change the color. Mismatched firewalls, etc trigger my OCD.

4 white vehicles, 2 silver checking in. I'm incredibly boring.

Wait what? You owned a body shop!?!?

Long time ago. Been out of the game since '94
Swing over and paint my cruiser bro. Don’t be like my ex-gf and make a brother beg for it.

You're making a pretty big assumption I was any good.

I'd call up RC. It's going to be a minute before yours are spraying fuel again. I'd be curious about their thoughts on install delays.
Curious here too.
