Oh, Fortuna's wheel, you cruel mistress. The 60 had just been off loaded from the trailer and about to be accepted for transport in Houston and then this happened:

How are the German authorities going to feel about that? Probably not good? Luckily there are a few ways to rectify that and none of them are that difficult.

It is a new PS pump that was replaced in October so is still under warranty.
A new one will arrive today and we'll try delivering again Monday. Definitely an unexpected hiccup and a little concerning the part had issues after such a short time.
I'm in NZ now and was eating breakfast imagining my truck finally making it on the ship, only to get this news ... . Serenity now! lol 😆

Good news after all the troubles. I'm interested to see what the Germans make of it as I will at some point be importing a BJ60 into the UK...

At a minimum I would have thought you'll need to add a rear fog light and have the speedometer reading in modern units. Not sure if you can keep the US-style running lights, but I feel like I've seen American imports in Germany still running them.

So, my guy Dieter, who runs an import garage, told me that alot of the normal German restrictions go out the window as long as it manages to get its 'old timer' classification. Any of the other needed modifications will be handled by his garage. Fingers crossed/thumbs pressed. 😀
Of course, I'll keep this thread updated with all the details.

@zeeklafreek Chistian,
I'll bet you are a kid during the days before Christmas.
I saw Betty on the trailer at Danny's, she's a beaut.
Oh man, exactly. My wife was so patient as I explained to whomever would listen during our vacation the saga of Betty wending her way to Germany. lol
She would just tell them, "Oh, he's going to talk about his 'truck' for the next 30 minutes..."

Just got word from Dieter, Betty will be crossing on this very ordinary looking container ship:

Leaving Houston February 6th and arriving in Bremerhaven on March the 8th.
I'll be burning some special "No sinking container ships in the North Atlantic" incense and candles during the crossing.

Your truck is still in the states?
I thought that ship had sailed, as it were.

Are those One Stone armrests? I ended up snagging a set, haven’t spent much time with them but they seem like a worthwhile accessory.

Well, it's true it was delivered to the ship yard in Houston but the ship wasn't there yet. lol
I've been tracking the damn thing for a week now.
And they are the One Stone knock offs. The quality seems fine to me, heavy enough and materials seem nice.
Of course, won't really know for sure until I have Betty.
But stoked about the mats, for sure.
