Can this drain plug be used on the top & bottom of the front diff on a 2015 LX570?While you are at it you might consider the IS drain plug for your front diff. Much harder to strip the head. 9090341-24016.
That's exactly what I used for the diffs. Some of it was a few years old, left over from our previous 100 series. No issues after maybe 1500 miles.Stupid question.
I'm going to knockou my transfer case and front & rear diff fluids today.
I bought two bottles of Red Line MT-LV fluid 70W75 for the transfer case.
Front & Rear diff wise, I plan on using Mobil 1 75W-90. The only gear oil I can find at any of the auto stores is Mobil 1 75W-90 LS. Is this gear oil safe to use on the front and rear diffs?

Thank you!! You really saved my headache. I have a dilemma that I have to replace my transfer case, I can only have aftermarket choice and it's hard to find exactly correct part number Tcase. The synchro is in there, Toyota just doesn’t offer it separately after the 12/2011 build date. LF75W requirement began in 2010.
Ok cool. I actually called the local Lexus dealership and tried to order the part under # 9090341-24016. The guy at the parts counter said they couldn't find the part in the system.No. The drain plug on most toyota front diffs is much larger than the fill, due to it being the access point to check backlash.
Good deal, thanks for that heads-up!That's exactly what I used for the diffs. Some of it was a few years old, left over from our previous 100 series. No issues after maybe 1500 miles.
Mobil Delvac 1 Synthetic 75w90 is a GL5 as per Mobile spec sheet and not recommended for gear boxes with synchromesh (yellow metal). Toyota recommends a oil that is designed for a xfer case (with yellow metal) from 2010 and beyond...That would be a GL4 and Toyota wants 75w for the viscosity. GL4 gear oils do not have the EP additives that cause corrosion when in contact with yellow metal.Mobil Delvac is your friend. $10 a quart, full synthetic 75W90, no limited slip additive. It's very hard to find locally, so I just get lots of quarts of it at at time line with free shipping. I use it in my TC, it runs nice and quiet as this is an HD truck oil.

I was posting it in reference to use in diffs. It's one of the only synthetic non-boutique 75W90s that does not have a LS additive.Mobil Delvac 1 Synthetic 75w90 is a GL5 as per Mobile spec sheet and not recommended for gear boxes with synchromesh (yellow metal). Summit .com left out the Mobil spec info about what not to use it in.

So my question if the synchronizer is still present inside from 2007 to 2021 is there any significant mechanical difference between transfer cases with different part numbers??? can I use pre-75w Tcase in my 2016 LX570 model?
Thanks in advance
I appreciate the heads-up. I'll give them a call tomorrow with that #Double check the number from my post. It seems a 90 got added in there somewhere.
90341-24016 Is indeed a good number and should work in the Lexus system.
best or cheapest? They also got rid of dedicated transmission coolers in tundras from 2019 onward.as an aside, toyota has started using atf in the transfer for the new 2022 -present tundras, seems to shift a bit faster than my old tundra,
interesting to see they seem to think this is best now.
