Thanks Jeff! I know what you mean about literacy sabbatical... I lose more and more of my vocabulary every year.

Oh, I see you said 'literary'... Same problem, just backwards... The former is 'Picking up what you're putting down', the latter is 'putting down what you're picking up'.

I think my painter is off on some Hunter S Thompson segue from reality...."Fear and loathing in the paint booth"?

Found myself walking down the rattle can isle the other day...Casting furtive glances at the flat black!!

Are you sure your painter paints?

No, not really....But I am morbidly fascinated by his stagnant mediocrity...It would appear that apathy and complacence in the painters world is a virtue...I wish he would just hack off his ear and get on with it...

What type of foam did you use on the heater blower? Can it be used for in the heater box as well? And where can it be bought? lol

It's a closed cell foam (wont absorb water). I used it on the heater box as well. I had some left-over 3M dual sided automotive tape I used for adhesion. Any craft store, upholstery shop or even E-bay has a pretty good selection of the closed cell foam. The 3M tape is where you will run into $$. Automotive spray adhesive may work as well. I used the spray adhesive on a corner of my headliner that was drooping.

A few "smalls" ordered and waiting for this weekend. "Fred" has his warning order and if the weather cooperates I should manage a few things on the hunting mule. I'll post up the commentary as it develops....

Thanks City Racer and Cruisercorp =

I'm with your painter... Painting sucks... I used to do it every summer for years but this time (for my wife) has been a PITA

Ceiling white (home decrap) had to kilz over that (again home decrap) still need a third coat ceiling white (sherwin Williams) Painted all trim... Fixed all holes... And still the wife needs to decide on color... 'Note to self' don't say "I don't care what color you pick" it leads to a lot of problems

Not to derail your thread with boring paint problems... Just don't buy HD ceiling paint lol

And definitely don't paint your truck with it

Lol...JohnnyC, I could not have said it better myself....

Those rattle cans are starting to look pretty good to me!!

I would just try to find a better painter :)

Rattle can does look 'good' but will not last in the long run... You need a good paint job... You are putting a lot of work into it... Got to get a good paint job

Don't do the roller like I did on mine lol

Unless you want to always be envious of other cruisers paint job for ever :meh:

Not to derail your thread with boring paint problems...

We might as well talk about your ceiling. My progress on the hunting mule is DOA...

I'm looking for a "winch"...Howz that for an opening line???

I may end up with an ENGO...Although the X20 is looking like a decent winch for my purpose on the hunting mule...I don't do any hardcore off-road wheeling.

Check out the harbor freight winches, they really are pretty good from all the reviews.

I just may do that...I read a pretty good review REF: HF winches...

I have missed out on some of the action here, looks like I need to back up a few and read through some of this. The part about paint rollers and Land Cruisers has me in a slight quandary. I mean one minute I was looking at a battery tray, and BOOM out came some pictures of paint in a living room! Man, maybe that moonshine was better than I thought...............................

It is probably the fact that I was a drinker at one time... You get these flashbacks that make past and present mold into one...

You may want to blackout certain areas of our threads that make mind numbings and go back after having regained sanity :)

Or just join us in our happy world LOL

HF winches would probably do you just fine... Always think bigger than you would need when it comes to buying a winch (a dad quote.. He heard it from someplace else I'm sure)

I would recommend the winch I have ... But... They are VERY expensive these days.

Mine is a Pierce 12,500 wormgear winch ... Slow and reliable... Had Pierce use silver contact solenoids and bearing HD motor ... I have used it one billion times without fail
