AJ, your bushings will be here in the morning :cool: Just for clarity, the bushings you are using for the front leafs are the same dimensions as the OME SB1 parts (actual bushing part number is PT260 however yours are not the OME units per your desire)

I'm excited to see this thing all wrapped up! I've got 3 semi-local customers doing the 75 ---> 55 spring swap, lets see who gets it done the fastest!

More bushing/spring tech:

Stock FJ60 Bushing Dimensions (all 24 locations) - I have these in stock in 3 different varieties, OME, Poly and Rubber
ID= 18mm OD (main body/flange)= 35mm/45mm Flange Thickness=5.5mm

Stock FJ55 Bushing Dimensions (all 24 locations) - I have these in stock poly
ID= 18mm OD (main body/flange)= 30mm/38mm Flange Thickness=4mm

Stock 75 rear spring Bushing Dimensions - I 'usually' have these in stock OME
ID= 18mm OD (main body/flange)= 40mm/50mm Flange Thickness=5.4mm

CS006F/7F - Has 35mm ID bushing journal on leaf spring (both ends)
CS006R/7R - Has 40mm ID bushing journal on leaf spring (both ends)

What I meant, was that you can use the OMESB1 kits (2 kits required) for the front springs. No modifications (shaving) to the bushings are necessary but the bushings provided in the OMESB1 kits won't fit the frame side of the FJ55.

Yeh, right. I get it now! Thats if you're running the 60 series shackles too. I'm kind of dissapointed with myself that I didn't go the OME route with the springs, considering how much effort I put in to researching it!

quick update

all springs are on but one on the rear. hangers are back 5 inches in their final locations. tomorrow: new U-bolts and the last spring, and if im lucky shocks. it'll be there friday kurt.

sorry guys i promise lots of pics in the final write up, my comp just wont load them to mud. i must need to down size them.

You can use 60 series shackles or you can use your stock 55 shackles since the pins and shackles on the 55 are the same OD (same bushing size ID) as the 60 series. Or you can use late model 40 series shackles with the same 18mm pin.

Awesome tech.

I can't wait to see the results.

A few questions:

-Are all the OME 75 series springs lift springs? I might consider throwing some stock height OME springs on my pig if thats an option.
-Does anyone have spring rate info and applications for the different springs (medium vs heavy, etc.)?

-and Kurt, can you get stock or OME 55 bushings?

Yes, OME makes very few of what they call a "stock height" suspension, even those are 1"+ when installed.

-Does anyone have spring rate info and applications for the different springs (medium vs heavy, etc.)?

But of course

(expanding on John's list)

CS001F are 40 series front light loads - 350 lbf/in
CS001R are 40 series rear light loads - 300/450 lbf/in (overload spring)
CS002F are 40 series front heavy loads - 398 lbf/in
CS002R are 40 series rear heavy loads - 357/496 lbf/in (overload spring)
CS003F are 60 series front light loads (gas) - 220 lbf/in5
CS004F are 60 series front heavy loads (gas); front light diesel - 257 lbf/in
CS005F are 60 series front heavy loads (diesel) - 305 lbf/in
CS006F are 75 series front light loads (gas and diesel); also front heavies for gas but use a different firm shock - 302 lbf/in
CS006R are 75 Series rear Light Loads - 388/610 lbf/in (overload spring)
CS007F are 75 series front heavy loads (diesel) - 348 lbf/in
CS007R are 75 sSeries rear heavy loads - 455/600 lbf/in (overload spring)

Got part numbers and rates on those ones?

I'm already too high, I'd hate to go higher.

Yeh, I just meant that if you use 60 series or 40 series shackles, then you can use the 60 series bushes on the shackle end without shaving them.

Got part numbers and rates on those ones?

The answer was "yes", all of the OME 70 springs are lift springs. :D

So there are no "stock" height options for the 70. They do have a few stock height options, just not for the 40,55,60 or 70. I should have added that.

Here's what I have from Scott Pilcher's house last fall...

I want those shackles so bad.

And the springs are just way too sexy.

Way to ruin my dreams Kurt. Stupid spring over... :grinpimp:

I've got a couple pictures, AJ & Jim brought the Cruiser down to the Cruiser Outfitters show-shine & BBQ last weekend. Looks freakin' awesome!

Thanks again for making the effort to get it done and come down AJ. Of the 60+ Land Cruisers in attendance, yours was one of the crowd favorites for sure!

Some more... I stopped by AJ's this afternoon... Check it out with some sweet, familiar looking, new 33 x 10.5s :) Looking good AJ! I was very impressed with it...

AJ also I really want to apologize to your old man, I kept calling him Rick mostly because I knew a Rick Oliver back in the day... I had totally forgotten his first name is Jim. Jim... If you can relay the message!

Truck looks great, almost like the kit was designed for it :)

That is a good looking 55.

Another thing that I like about the 75 springs on the 55 is that for some reason, it does end up with that raked look like all the other OME suspension setups.

I'm goona work on resizing those pictures for real this time, give me till tonight. I haven't even put up pics of my own rig!!!

the the 33X10.5 are a huge improvement. looks way better than those 32's. the freshly restored fj60 wheels aren't to shabby either, thanks Andre:D
