Are you going to do a build thread in the Hardcore section or here in the 70 section? I do not get in here much, but look forward to the build.
I doubt I want all the feedback I would get in the hardcore section. Of all the hardcore s*** I've built that forum usually makes me want to drink. Full of guys that built their SOA 40 on 55 springs 🤓

Those look nice. Seems like they are downright cheap...
How's the freight bill from Brazil?
I bought them from a Jeep guy. Have to cut
Off all the brackets but I think they are a steal.

May as well go straight to 42s
Those Dana 70s hang low.

You can’t lose on 42s 😁

I'm shooting for a streetable truck. 40s be plenty. Not trying to hang out with the rear steer buggies.

I want something to take to colorado and do some of the Montrose trails. Drive over and do Holy Cross.

Ship out to California and do Dusy and Rubicon.

Not really trying to relive my old days breaking trails and dumping my s*** over.

Wngrog: I was just thinking, not really anytime soon, about how a 70 series crawler would be cool maybe someday

So I’ve bought an FZJ75, and high pinion Dana 70s with 5.29s and ARBs …
Ordered a Black Box too....

Well sounds like you have it all figured out ;)

I "think" it's their own proprietary air locker and not an ARB?.... but I'm not that familiar with this brand.
It came with all ARB stuff. I've not been inside it but the box of stuff is all ARB.

I actually did the Rubicon in my KZJ73 , for scenic wheeling like that you don't need to many modifications . My hzj73 crawler that I build a few years ago was awesome but it wasn't as capable on hardcore obstacles as a full blown buggy and it definetely wasn't streetable anymore linked and on 40' stickies .
Hey @joekatana can you post some photos of you hzj73 rock crawler build?

I click on this thread because it sounded cool
I like running technical trails but also like being able to roll the windows up to keep the dust out and turn on the AC !! 😎

My comment had nothing to do with keeping up with buggy’s or dumping your S*** over.

Simple fact is Dana 70s are huge and hang low.
Being streetable is going to be more about link geometry then tire size and getting the geometry right comes down to packaging and that’s tuff when building around a stock frame.

The Rubicon & the Dusy are both easily done on 35s

Montrose & Holy Cross I can’t speak of but don’t see full body rigs on those trails

But I’m a nobody and don’t know S*** 😎

Looking forward to seeing this build 😉
