One of the last mods that I did was put the 40 mirrors on my 55. I had them for a while, but finally got around to putting them on the day the pig was being picked up.

That's not too bad. Anything is better than the stockers.
Howdy! Hate to hijack, but does this as show the phantom FJ56 Diesel? I cant' read all the details in the fine print. JohnI like it. Seen another cruiser like that also somewhere.
Also this was the stock location for Japan pigs.

Yea, I spose it would. OK, so the 6 in 56 just means Barn Doors? I can't remember.FJ56.... wouldnt that determin that it was using an "F" series motor thus meaning a petrol motor?
but they don't look too bad for a cheap alternative & keeping it Toyota.but its never stamped FJ56 on frames or vin plates, thats the strange part, they have FJ56 on paper but not anywhere else. i kinda think the FJ56 was for japanese market pigs only.
it would be neat to have someone in japan, look at a frame stamp on a pig and see if its FJ56, there must be at least one pig left alive in japan.
interesting about the 55 56 thing... But do the 40 mirrors bolt right onto the 55 door using the two exsisting bolt holes on top and adding one for the third hole on the 40 mirror, or is it a complete cut and weld job? What are the centers distance of the two top bolt holes on the 40 mirrors?
