I have a nursing license but have been in school to become a doctor of nursing anesthesia DNAP for 3 years. That is all well documented here on mud.
Watch out... He’s might want a stool sample before long.

oh it’s ok I don’t mind, I was pretty open about my career change. Hell I even started a thread on it here on mud, and I list my name and location in my profile. Lol. Just not very applicable to Superchargers. :meh:

BUT... I we haven’t seen anything from you in the “what you are eating” thread in chat :hillbilly:

Actually right this very minute, Chicken Marsala from a little place in Coleville WA, called Cafe Italiano. Not very authentic but pretty delicious. Lol

Finally a good tech thread!

Anything is possible? Good luck with your supercharger assembly David.

Small world. That is how I know you. We spoke maybe 5 years ago on all nurses. I am the ICU Intensivist.

I don’t think your catching joeys sense of humor. He does make turbos, he just has a long waiting list.

Aforementioned, I am on his waiting list. Aforementioned, I have a turbo on one of my rigs that has made it so I am unable to obtain proper vehicle registration; this denies me the opportunity to sell the vehicle. Because of my profession, I am unable to leave this area until COVID 19 dies down. That means restricted travel except to extremely remote areas is forbidden (My specialty). I know Joey. I have been buying off of him for years. I started a post for supercharges and three individuals with a vested financial interest in TURBOS tried to take over the forum. Wits' End is good for some projects; just not for mine. Allow me to freely execute my first amendment right. If he creates a post just on Turbos, I will not go on there ragging on him for his dumb ideas. I would be supportive and kind. I understand they have a financial investment (including money from me) and need to sell so many units, but ostracizing buyers is not an effective methodology. Also, be careful about what you advertise in California. The CARB is not really accepting right now of small oversights. They are fining individuals $50,000 dollars per incident of violation and up to 5 years in jail. They have no income so they are attacking whoever they can.

I’d pick this over a turbo. I do a lot of rock crawling and the low end instantaneous constant linear torque is what’s needed instead of high end power. Sign me up.

still the goal
im in an area which a lot of people are in that have something called SMOG. If you can’t CERT it it does me and a lot other no good. So let’s stop talking about something that normal people in an everyday basis can’t install because “it’s not smog legal”. In which theses super chargers are smog legal. Pretty simple.

Really interested in what you come up with. Sounds like you have the necessary resources and drive to get some type of supercharger developed. I am in a similar situation as not being able to run the wits end turbo, but mine is because I have a 94 with the older OBD1. From my research looks like the only place that makes one is Bullet supercharger down in Aussie. I have contacted them about getting one with the xede computer programmed to my make and model. They could supply, price is on par with turbo, will see maybe after I do the engine swap I will look into it.

I've been running a blower on my 80 for 20 years. Rarely, if ever, do I see boost off-road. Unless it's climbing sand dunes or other really flogging a smooth dirt track. I don't do much of either of those.

I’m not an expert on California laws, but couldn’t you still sell this to a buyer out of state, or to a dealer? If so, can you share some more details on the turbo vehicle/build as it may be interest for my friend in CO.

Dollar per dollar the wit's end turbo kit is going to make the most sense especially if it becomes a CARB legal part. Heck you could probably swap the turbo in and out in a weekend when it comes to smogging if needs be.

The idea that a new engine is 5500 (a v8) is a complete rubbish thing to say since actually doing an engine swap is a pretty involved process that probably only 20% of Mud members can do (I venture to guess even less than that). Wiring, new driveshafts (usually), custom power steering lines, custom a/c lines, new radiator, engine mounts and etc. Chevy v8s are great for making power, reliability.... well that's a question mark.

why does it always need to be about TuRBO’s? We’re taking about superchargers which by the way WITS END Does not make.

I think if I was starting from scratch I would use an Eaton TVS R1740 and relocate the alternator to the exhaust side and put the supercharger on the intake side and create an intake manifold with a built in a/w cooler like most modern SC's. Could be a pretty slick design for people that want a supercharger.
