And please stop cluttering the build thread with parts inquiries. 👍

Are those license plate lights? I'm sorry, this build is just too much. I'm going to go cower under a bush.

Makes me feel very inadequate.

Exquisite workmanship and attention to details. Love how much its kept with original parts

Beautiful and over the top at the same time.

Really nice WORK !!

That thing should never see dirt ! it should go to the Land Cruiser Museum !

What did you do for the contrasting letters on the VC? Kinda looks like the sides are also silver...

Powder coated and then polished off the letters, iirc it was clear coated after.

Ya know A LOT of these parts are very likely going NLA soon from Toyota. So I am not so sure a person will be able to do this with ALL Toyota parts in a few years.

Cheers

It's a shame Toyota is turning its back on perhaps its most legendary off-road vehicle ever produced. In any case, it makes this build all the more essential and riveting. Thanks again to Ian for sharing the process.

I don’t think they are turning their backs on the 80-series. Cruisers were built for a 25yr service life, we are coming to the end of that. They also stop making parts when people stop buying them. I have seen it happen with 60-series, in 2010/12 you could still get a lot of parts from Toyota for the 60-series, even things like trim. Now, forget it. Not very many car manufacturers out there go beyond say ten years for supplying parts, Toyota and a few others are the exception as are Cruisers.

There also seems to be a lot of bad info as far as what is still available. As well as a lot of people who don’t use OEM parts.

Cheers
