darn, that made me laugh ...

Why are you laughing? You know you are included in that group.

I have found that when you own two lethargic,

diesel Land Cruisers, folks have a tendency to think that this bumper sticker is a lie.

I'm sure those guard rubber flaps get pulled of in OZ to let cold air in to help remove engine heat. I'm interested to see how they go on your truck.

image.webp Made my own, and yes considered whether the heat may be trapped, who knows, .?? Can always remove , These are my second attempt at making these flaps, as my first attempt the rubber was too flimsy and ripped off at the plugs, the new rubber a bit thicker and less susceptible to velocity , that's " landcruiser velocity" of course :steer:

There were bits and pieces of my apron still present so I assume it simply deteriorated. Unlike Ford and Chevrolet, who have a mesh product impregnated into their aprons, Toyota's version is very flimsy. Heat removal really isn't an issue.
My main desire is to keep excess mud and water off of the turbo which is mounted fairly low in the engine bay.

I believe that's the first time I have ever seen "Toyota" and "velocity" used in the same sentence.
"Slowly gathering momentum" might have been more appropriate.

I am shocked that you would use "Toyota" and "flimsy" in the same sentence - or paragraph, for that matter. They have flimsy bits, of course, but my sense is we just don't talk about it publicly :)

To clarify, it was my own design fault when creating the the 1st set of rubber curtains, it was I who failed the cruiser by fitting flimsy workmanship, and it was not the cruiser that failed.
The cruiser did exactly what it's designed to do and be " heavy duty ", it was my creation that was only light duty, and the cruiser removed it under own steam.

Sorry, I just was trying to increase my street creds. :)

Every time I try to improve my Cruiser (with my own hands), I seem to dilute Mr. Toyota's original work :)

My comment was on Charles' post, not the wonder of Landcruisers.....

I understand the concept, but I don't have any street creds to improve.

Tech post: My 73 has no inner fender flap thingamajigs, so I now have equipment envy, gotta get some of them things.

Hey Wayne while you are tossing do you have an accessory meter hood and base?:)

Dan - If Wayne does not, I have a new hood if you need/want.

Cool!
