yeah Theo, I had to since my hardtop sides needed so much work and no options for the weatherstrip and inner felt for the sliders? Then the body shop had to remove all the welded on brackets that held the seatbelts and platic inner body panels, did great job though. u have any closeups of how the rear single seatbelt attaches to the wall? since there is to things that hook to that one.

Looks clean and totally penciled, have always liked grey as the only real colour for stock wheels.

Thanks fellas, I appreciate it, I have a real Diesel shop on it, been in business for 30 years. Got the Top bolted down tonight, almost finished with this PITA weatherstripping everywhere, what a pain. getting rear door mechanisms in place, getting turn sigs on, I am thinking about painting wheels black to match accents? and maybe doing the split ring in chrome. but its all sealed up now and will get a nice wipe down from all the body shop dust inside cab.

looking very nice, congrats.

that truck looks so original and stockish, it would be a shame to mess with the authentisity of the grey rims...
if you want to bling her up then buy a second set of rims and tires.

lot of work and hours invested, eh?

I'm with Wayne here. It looks nearly perfect as it is. The only thing it needs to be perfect is the engine. ;)

That really, really looks sharp.

Dan

yes many, many hours, more than I care to recall. I guess the grey rims will grow on me in time.

Rob

buddy, it is your truck you do what YOU want. we are just making suggestions.

this is exactly what most Cruiserheads have no idea about, how long it takes to refurbish a truck. take all your hours X $60 and you have your labor then add the parts you bought, it is a huge investment (even if you are doing it for enjoyment it is a good figure to have in the back of your mind)

I used to have black split rims on my hj 45, didn't look very good IMO, but that's just me. That 42 looks insanely awesome with the hardtop on.

thanks, yeah the more I look at the photos I am liking the grey. Got the headlight buckets in, headlight protectors, amby door locks in, plastic inner panels mounted, got it all cleaned inside from the body shop dust, last bit of W/S on. Now we are awaiting the engine and exhaust w/ exhaust brake? and then we will install, we will see. I have a chrome headlight bezel but I think I like the black, my original was white.

Sorry Rob , mine came without rear seats & belts :crybaby:

Oh my god. My LX is so ugly.

Josh

Definitely hope this is still in Florida when I find the time to come pick up that hood - absolutely stunning.

Ditto on grey wheels - leave them as they are.

Personally - given the later model year, I'd chrome the bezel (flame away) as that's the way I've seen most of them when out of the states, and then go with OEM plated hood hold downs and paint the mirror brackets pewter/silver. The black just seems wrong - sorry, but have to give an honest opinion - everything else is just so perfect.

thanks fellas, No worries Theo, I think I figured it out. Right now the Ccruiser is still in St Pete awaiting the engine to get wrapped up then I will fly down drop it in take back to Diesel shop so they can crank it and adjust as needed and make sure everythiung smooth. then I will drive back up to NC then to MD with my CDN M101 camp trailer, this is the plan at least.
