A few other parts. I also decided to break into my stash and use my new oem rear tailgate on this truck. I want it to be perfect when I'm done and I can't think of cleaner fst to use it on.

Have you tried that fuel tank cover on the 72's fuel tank? I picked up on of these years ago for my 68 only to find the cover is for the smaller 16 1/2 gallon 73-78 fuel tank and doesn't fit over the larger 18 1/2 gallon fuel tanks. Some point will use it on my 73 FST since 73 model didn't have these covers.

Not sure which tank in going to go with yet. Might not use it.

Tub is finished and mounted to the frame.

A few other photos. I put my nos oem tailgate on this truck. I struggled with that however the body on this one is amazing and the truck deserved the best. Luckily I purchased an aftermarket tire holder bracket years ago. With my BFG oversized tires the stock mount would not work. I still need to add the tailgate weather stripping however it needs to be a bit warmer for that.

Progress has been slow. Between the holidays, wife’s surgery the first part of the year, and everyone in family catching the flu it seems I can’t get any time to get this truck finished.

It looks fantastic!

One thing I’m planning on doing with this fst is to use rubber padding on everything. I love fst trucks more than Hardtop’s however they are noisy. Everything tends to rattle. I’m cutting rubber spacers everywhere metal pieces touch each other. For example on the fst bar straps and where the fst bars touch the tub. Hopefully it will be worth the effort once completed. Photos to follow soon.

I have 1972 but it doesn't have the gas tank cover. Is that jut n add-on? It's good idea!
Yes, mine does not have a cover either. My plan was to add one, however I should have thought of that before I painted the tub! Now I am not sure that I am going to add it. I might just use the larger tank and leave it off.

Looking good, Gabe. I’ve never seen that color before...and I love it.
I checked the paint color twice. It looks a bit more rusty color than the Pueblo Brown ones I have seen before. I had sample mixed twice and both colors turned out the same so it must be right. Either way, I love the color too. I think the light color top will lighten up the paint as well. Also others may have went single stage paint and I did base coat clear coat. I am sure that makes a difference too.

My very first cruiser - a 72 fj55 was two tone in Pueblo on the lower. and after 40 years it looked absolutely nothing like that. Most people thought it was like a chcolatey version of dune beige.....
but that cruiser sat in sunny ol Bakersfield its whole life and was sun baked beyond belief. Congrats on that color choice.....spectacular looking color!!!:clap:

Love the color, and the build.
