oooh....color choice is gonna be hard. I always wanted to see my steelies like yours in that machine grey on a white cruiser.

and i just saw these maroon seats on a blue cruiser and it was a badass combo.

heres a cool~ Cadet blue n white for inspiration...and it looks like coral seats inside. If Julie/ Trollhole could do a Coral top on that blue..........you would have a one of a kind. !!!!!

Looks like a great build.

I would pick an OEM color appropriate for the year, if it were mine. Spring green (for instance) doesn't look right on a '78, but looks great on a '71.

Question: what are you going to use for caulk on the cowl and fender seams? It seems that most caulks eventually shink/crack/lose paint.

cadet blue and either a tan canvas or white would both look great. Coral would be a bit over the top for sure.

Progress report. Parts are primed. Tub needs another coat of primer then it's ready for paint.

More parts. I forgot how much work it is to restore a fst. There are a lot of small parts that need painted.

A few other parts. I also decided to break into my stash and use my new oem rear tailgate on this truck. I want it to be perfect when I'm done and I can't think of cleaner fst to use it on.

Pueblo brown it is. Going with a base coat clear coat instead of single stage paint. The underside is sprayed and there is no turning back now. This is one of the cleanest fj40 tubs you will ever find! I can’t wait until I can start putting it back together.
