What’s going on around here?

Good question.

Considering the insane amount of time and money invested in this truck the fit and finish leave lots and lots to be desired.

This one was picked to be a resto mod because the finish was so bad but then it became something else.

💩 polishing in short

Rotunda 2.0 has officially begun after staring at this thing for a week and coming up with a game plan.

I took it for a drive down the highway and truly you can’t really appreciate all the work Mosley Motors did until you actually drive it. This built 1FZ literally thumps at idle then spools up almost as if it has a turbo.

After my joy ride I called the bossman and got approved for the 2.0 plan

Disclaimer: nothing under the hood will be disturbed by me or any of my minions

This is turning into a project everyone will love. Can’t wait to see what you have up your sleeve

Y’all may remember way back when Lockwood purchased 2 fixed top SWBs. This one and the 💩45

This one was to the pretty stockish build and all the bad ass parts for crawling like 3:1 case and Harrop E lockers were going into the 💩

After looking at the horrific paint job on Rotunda and the state of the 💩 I foot-stomped until John decided to put all of our love and cool parts into the Rotunda and spin the 💩 off to other pastures.

I did what I could with my visiting paint guy and the removal of cowl and fenders to get it to a B- paint job from 10’

Then the project spun out into a 1FZ fire breathing monster that is an absolute joy to drive but with some really nasty details.

So with the help of @Ozark cruiser we are going to bump the paint job up to the honor roll.

First things first. This dopey slide we dreamed up had to go.

In order for Jason to put a solid external paint job on this thing we have to remove the bed.

I spent the afternoon removing 8 or 10 of the firmly ensconced bolt that held it to the frame. The last two are the easiest and I left them on so I can just drive this thing to Powder Keg and we can lift it off there for blasting off this rattle can bed liner.

Also @Racer65 just released his new sliding glass weatherstrip. I just ordered that and some other strip he has for the doors and the window runs.

This is the typical paint issues that keep this truck from being on the honor roll

After the @ClemsonCruiser details on the Seminole red 45 and the paint job @Indygbd put on the 72 FST the bar is set too high for this nonsense

OK. Thanks for reading all of that.

Here is where I need help from the brain trust here on MUD.

In order to get things right I need some gaskets.

First, this piece of rubber on the windshield vent. Is that supposed to be painted body color or black? If black, where would one get it?

Next, these suicide vent window gaskets. Does anyone make these?

Last but definitely not least. This horribly painted and gooped up roof weather strip. This is fixed top specific. Does anyone reproduce this??

Windshield vent rubber is supposed to be black, sor had repros last time I checked. I believe cruiseroutfitters were the only ones with the early reproduction vent window gaskets and were on a last batch run, not sure if they’ve still got any left. Roof weatherstrip is fixed top specific. If I recall correctly someone was able to use a RT 45 roof weatherstrip and modified it to work, might have been @middlecalf .
