Yep. Another “Will it fit?” Thread.
I currently have newer stock shocks and OME 865 coils. 1 inch wheel spacers. I will need new tires soon, and I would really like to use 295/70/18s if they will fit and actually be functional off road.
I know I will need to smash the pinch weld and modify the...
So lately my mom says her 1999 is way bouncier than it used to be. They got Bilsteins installed in it in June (not sure exactly which ones) and it already has a torsion bar crank + rear spring lift and 33-34” tires.
She says it started just a few weeks ago, and it does seem to get rather bouncy...
Hello.. I use my 1995 LC on my ranch, it has 200k mi and needs shocks and typical upgrades / maintenance. It's all stock now, and I just want replacements with prudent upgrades and attention where necessary. If someone is truly experienced with knowing what and where the FJ80s need attention...
Have a '99, no lift, and not sure if springs + shocks are original or not but love the ride. Soft but yet corners well. No sag under normal use.
Recently went glamping with a LOT of heavy gear and the back sagged. Am also looking to tow our lighter boat <3500 lbs.
I'm familiar with the...
Hey guys,
Got some Tokico shocks free from a fellow cruisrehead, he thought they would fiteven with my 3 inch lift on my 1985 60 series. The old shocks are old according to PO so went in for the swap tonight, only to see that they only fit on fully flexed. Is this going to be an issue going...
Howdy Cruiser heads! I am wondering if these shocks will fit. They seemed to be the correct shock, although not OEM. Another forum suggested this was a comparable shock to OEM and they were a good enough price to consider going with the KYB. However, not if these don't fit. Measuring the frame...
FOX Factory 2.5” Remote Reservoir shocks (12” travel) with DSC controls for adjusting high speed and low speed compression.
I purchased from AccuTune Offroad about 1.5 years ago and 3k miles ago. Great condition, built by AccuTune and not rebuild/modified. Depending on your lift height and...
Hey everyone, I had to park my truck for a while due to cost of living and changing careers. But I just picked it back up and drove it back home from my parents. Really missed that truck.
I'm curious if anyone has tried the new shocks from Dobinsons, the IMS I believe they are called. I need to...
After a lot of research and confusion I bought myself two pairs of Koni HT Raid shocks.
It will be over $1700 with shipping and tax. But I am confused. When I install these shocks, which rebounding setting should I opt for? and how do I do it?
Full set of control arms for an 80 series. I bought an extra set to install new bushings so I didn't have any downtime. Includes fronts with blue caster bushings for 2.5 lift, 2 rear upper, 2 rear lower, panhard rear and front. The arms all have oem older bushings.
Also selling 2 front fox...
I just installed Skyjacker's 4 in lift springs to my '79 FJ40, at first I was using Rancho 5000 shocks and the ride was horrible! .. it was so harsh and stiff! .. at first I thought the springs were very hard for the truck. then I decided to get a set of Bilstien 5100 series shocks instead, and...
Hey Mud,
I am going to be converting the wife's 06 LC from AHC to standard suspension over the winter.
Plan is to net about a 2.5" lift. While looking at the order options for King Shocks, it give me an option for custom length for lifted vehicles.
Do I need to custom spec them longer or are...
Two shops, two different opinions. Attached are pics. 07LX with dark drivers side shocks that appear to maybe have been leaking but no fluid noticed. Passenger side looks normal.
Are there looking like they were leaking or just a different shade? Ride feels normal.
Looking to sell two rear Ironman foam cell pro shocks and older medium ironman springs.
Shocks have about 1000 miles on them. I bought them and shortly after Ironman ran a sale on a full lift kit so I ended up buying that and these have been laying around my garage.
The springs are older...
Ok so a sort of newbie thing but something I've never completely understood. How do you determine what size/spec shocks to get?
I have Lovells medium rate springs giving me about a 3.5 inch lift. I currently run Icon 1.0 shocks that are rated for up to 3 inch lift. That *should* be compatible...
Ohlins is debuting a larger damper that I expect will excite many. Applications ATM are for Tacoma and Bronco, but they do show off larger universal units which could be custom built… and enough interest will generate more applications.
In excellent condition, used for about 600 miles. Great shocks, got my hands on Kings so these are up for sale. Originally had OME when I first got my rig, these were much better.
$825
Might have been here (?) that it was mentioned about seeing if the shocks on my 80 (7 yr old Icon 1.0's) are flogged out as part of sorting the front-end clanging/banging when traverseing bumps/holes/etc. in roads.
I've never actually contemplated shocks 'going bad' but heck they're mechnical...
