coolant

Hey guys, trying to figure out what the problem is with my 2005 LC. just got it from my inlaws a few months ago and noticed that the coolant was low in the reservoir. not empty, but at the low mark. filled it up and noticed that the level dropped again. started looking and found coolant on the...

Hi Guys, newbie here. Been happy using my Uview 550000 Airlift vacuum/purge tool. Worked great on my 2003 Honda Gold Wing. Have you purged your coolant system with this tool on your LC 100? Now I'm trying to use it on my 2000 LC. I was checking my fluids and noticed my coolant reservoir...

I noticed a very small but near-constant stream of red coolant running from the passenger front yesterday after a short drive. Today I crawled under and found nothing leaking down below so inspected the top and the leak appears to be coming from the upper part of the radiator on that side, or...

Hello, I have a 2000 LX 470 that seems to loose coolant while parked. I fill up the expansion tank to the full line, then about 8-12 hours later, the level is below the full line by about 1-2cm. I have not driven the car at all in between the fill and when I measure, and don't see any leaks...

As an intro, I’ve got a 1999 cruiser (had an 1997 80 previously). Rust free, California vehicle. Just turned over 200k a few days ago while in Yellowstone. Beautiful cruiser, but spotty maintenance records. This weekend (Saturday, 7/17/2021) we visited Mount Rushmore as part of our great...

So my LC just went over 200K, and as part of my I’d rather fix everything before it breaks mentality I did the following. 1. Radiator 2. Starter 3. Valve cover and spark plug tube seals 4. Spark plugs 5. Water pump 6. Removed and resealed the heat exchanger cover (valley plate) Got...

Recently got in a minor front end collision in my '93 FZJ80 with 240k miles, and even though there was no apparent damage to rad/ATF cooler, I noticed the coolant in my overflow reservoir looks a bit brown and cloudy. Any idea what it could be? Relevant information: -After the accident I did...

I have been at wit's end trying to chase a mysterious coolant consumption issue. Several months ago I noticed my reservoir tank had been at the minimal mark, I assume staying at a level that the pickup can no longer take in radiator fluid. I filled it up with Toyota Red 50/50 and thought...

I'm doing a little pet project and I need to be able to calculate the Coolant temp per Ohm and Oil Psi per Ohm of resistance and im having a hard time finding values for the stock FJ60 sending units. I found the water temp sensor values to as such WATER TEMP CELSIUS RESISTANCE OHMS 50 226...

I recently had a shop replace my big radiator hoses and do a coolant flush and replace with red coolant. Yesterday i went outside and checked my car and there was coolant on the ground after sitting for a day. I turned the car on with the rad cap off (which is also brand new) and it kept...

Hello Everyone, I drained the block and radiator on my FZJ80 and had a total of 4 gallons of used coolant. Replaced the thermostat/gasket, and all 3 rad hoses. I used 2 gallons of Toyota Red and 2 gallons of Distilled Water for a total of 4 gallons. I filled the upper radiator hose first...

2003 GX470 with 150k miles. Pump and belts done by PO at ~120k, and I just replace the thermostat inlet housing o-ring which I though was causing the leak due to visible seepage. After filling the reservoir to the full line, the next day it's back to half full. Coolant is visible on the front...

Hi all, I've got a nasty coolant leak but I'm not exactly sure of the cause or where it's coming from. It sounds (loud hissing) like it's coming from inside the area circled in the image below. Below that is a YouTube video of what's happening down below. Any thoughts on what might be the...

I've got an overheating problem that has given me fits for the last two weeks. I have an 86 FJ60 2f engine. It overheats. I have changed the thermostat after boiling it to make sure it works as it should. It's a 180F I've replaced all hoses. I've put in a new 4 core radiator and have checked...

I just rebuilt this engine myself and had it machined at a machine shop, Less than 15k miles on it. Ive been chasing coolant leaks because I decided to reuse old cooling hoses. All the hoses are fixed now but i still had drips under my car when i park, so i put some UV dye in the coolant to see...

I was doing preventative maintenance on my ‘99 Land Cruiser by replacing the plastic T’s on the coolant lines. I eventually got the clamps backed away, and the first T removed intact. The 2nd T, closer to the driver side, broke inside the hose that goes to the engine. While trying to get the...

Does anyone have access to the steel tubes that go across the injector/valve cover area connecting the heater core valve area to the head and water pump area?....or can rubber hose be used? My heater was totally bypassed because it was in Panama (not much need for heat there).
