I purchased this trailer with the intention of converting it to a camping trailer. I looked past the current condition and saw what I wanted and stated to look up the parts. Sadly, life threw me a curve and I will not be able to complete the dream.
The trailer is in decent shape for a 52 year old trailer. There is rust but I haven't seen anything rusted through. A fire dept had it and hauled a generator in it, I believe they took off the tow ring, brake handle and added the 1 7/8z" ball hitch. The trailer tows straight, the wheels are in good condition, the tires have a little dry rot and I was going to replace them anyway, the frame looks solid and there are dents in the body. Update Edit...I was asked for price point? That depends on what your selling . I like nice stuff , so if it's worth it I'm interested. So that being said, I really don't wanna go past 15k... now if it's something that just makes sense because it just to good of a deal I can go higher .

This trailer was stripped to a bare frame a rebuilt a few years back.
I'm hoping to sell my small steel utility trailer, box measures 40x59 inches has drop down tailgate. Really stout little trailer with a solid axle and leaf springs, no major rot, but has some surface rust, bearings were freshly packed and adjusted. It does have a VIN but is not in the DMV system. I purchased the trailer from the original owner who bought it brand new in 1976 along with a 1976 FJ40 (super cool guy!), he hadn't used it on the road in over 20 years so he didn't have a registration or plate for it. When I spoke with the DMV they advised me to register it has home built, which I planned on doing. Okay, starting in on building out a new 416 Trailer. So far the frame is done and the walls are tacked together and tailgate opening is cut. Should be done in a few weeks, this trailer will go for $5200.
It has a 3500 lb axle, the trailer is running 35" X 12.5" 15" tires on 15" wheel with a 6 on 5.5" Toyota hub pattern. the tub is a few inches wider at the bottom, (45.00") vs. the standard M416 which runs (41.00"). This trailer will have a 41" wide tailgate opening, there will be a "shaped" lid, matching the wing design of the M416 traditional look. I will also be including a bolt on RTT sub frame that will bolt onto the lid.
The lid will be removable, as will the tub, thus allowing you to use the trailer frame for hauling anything...
