**DING **DING [In this corner... weighing in at 10,220 lbs.... a 1993 Landcruiser. ... . ]

By the way those are "Super Heavies" 864's out back that normally ride level on regular trips :D

On our latest support trip in the desert. We supplied 10 rigs and 20 people water, ice, fuel, firewood, and whatever else was needed *(lots of beer) for 4.5 days in the middle of nowhere. That on top of what we normally carry, pullpal, two drawers of recovery gear, Fridge in the 80 fully loaded, 2) 250 lbs drivers, all our gear etc. Each day we'd re-stock while the group ran overland through the desert and meet at a selected new base camp each night.

That weight is a combined total with the Horizon trailer. Both fully loaded. Trailer was carrying 30 gallons of water, 5 lbs of propane, whatever was loaded into the ARB Fridge and 10 bundles of firewood.

By the way, there's 50 gallons of onboard fuel down below. We have a LRA aux tank that doubles our capacity.

During and after the trip, the 80 was inspected for any cracks or stress. None could be found. But we can't verify the frame is still perfect < Joke

Also fully loaded i drove very careful, kept my speed down (sometimes not on purpose) and didn't make any sudden moves. I'll put it this way, if something were to pull out in front of the road at the last minute, we'd be going through it. Even with the electric brakes on the trailer.

Anyways, figured i'd share. If its chit chat i apologize.

WOW... Dave that's incredible...would love to see a few more pics! Where were you?

,

Not incredible. Its idiotic. By your own acknowledgement you state your brakes are not up to task. Buy a trailer with trailer brakes. You might save someones life, maybe your own.

It does have trailer brakes. I was just making a point that we weren't stopping on a dime and the main point was swerving if need be.

Here we go.....guess the apocalypse is finally here, we're all gonna die.

That's a serious load SOCAL. Can't imagine what that's like to lug around with a 3F. Nice work.

Right on man, yeah that's why it's geared to 5.29's with 33's :D Thank god we have a 4.5 liter. At 55 mph (legal towing speed in California) the rig doesn't mind at all how much weight you pile on. It's the grades that kill us.

Very cool... More pics please..

I'll get some more up soon or even a somewhat real report on our site.

INTI roof rack?

Yes indeed. Originally from Venezuela and has been through the Amazon. Originally brush painted too, red. Strongest rack out there. Especially ours, its a full length 8 footer and has a ladder support and we've done some other various strengthening. I wouldn't trust anything else out there with that amount of weight.

And reading is fundamental.

"Even with the electric brakes on the trailer."

Hahaha! Reading is fundamental - Reminds me of Reading Rainbow...

Anyway, awesome rig... More pics please!

You didn't happen to track mpg on the trip did you? Just curious...

Thanks for sharing!

Wow, that is heavy. How did you lift measure after the trip?

towing rocks

I just got back from an overloaded trip myself!! I just have to say, that makes me smile... That kicks ass..!!!

A quick edit. Real men do it like that. :flipoff2: don't pull out in front of someone if you don't feel like getting driven through.

Came right back to life every day when we ran back into town empty. The scary part was when we were aired down with all that weight going through motorcycle whoops. Talk about keeping a slow pace :(

wicked rig

Thanks man
