FYI, After a short hiatus, ORANGE is back! I let my inventory run out somehow so it was out, but it is now fully stocked!

These Cerakoted colors seem to be holding up REALLY well. My testers are still practically new after multiple drops and daily use for nearly a year. I've seen a few folks with some chips on abused keys, but those seem rare. That really is an amazing coating and I'm lucky to have a local shop that has the coating process on lock-down. It's easy to screw up, but they've got it down now.

It's taken a lot of time and set of 100 series armor (or three) worth of $ investment in scrap, but I think I've finally got vendors and their processes all dialed in.

Anyone have any pictures of the ymd1 3 button fob next to an original key? I’ve been trying to find a comparison picture to see if there is much size difference.

Thanks!

6% smaller in two dimensions and 2% smaller in the other. It's noticeably more compact in the hand.

Other folks might have more comparison pics, but hopefully that helps!

Joined the club last night. Wife calls me as she was trying to leave work (tax season and she works late hours), tells me the key broke off in her hand (key blade still in ignition) and she can't start the vehicle.

I explained to her that the 'FOB' part containing the chip needs to be very near the ignition cylinder or it won't start. She did not know that...but the other issue was she couldn't turn the key blade by hand, said she wasn't strong enough. More likely she didn't want to 'break a nail'.

So...I reminded her that there was a small Leatherman multi-tool in her center console and it has a pliers apparatus on it. I can hear her digging and digging around over the phone and she finally finds it. Had to tell her how to open it and use it...but she managed. Had her hold the FOB near the ignition and turn the key. Heard the engine start. :)

So...that saved me a 20 mile trip into town. I keep a spare key on the vehicle (in a hidden spot) but I didn't figure she would feel like popping the hood and retrieving/unwrapping it.

Not wanting this to happen again ......I immediately thought of @suprarx7nut's Titanium remedy for this. Had a couple of questions...so I PM'd Andy, not expecting an answer so late...but he was actually on the forum and got back to me right away (Thank You Sir).

Got my order placed and this should solve the broken key FOB issue once and for all.

Big Thanks to Andy for developing this!

The funny thing about getting accustomed to the YotaMD key, is that it makes a fully intact OEM key (with remote) feel uncomfortably flimsy.

So true. Wish there was a double or triple Like button for this posting of yours.

Couldn't agree more. My recently acquired 06LX has the oem key. It's in perfect shape, but it's still "squishy".

Once you go YotaMD, you can never go back, haha!

I really want one, but struggling with the idea of destroying a perfectly good original key so waiting patiently for my 17 year old key to break...

You can't make an omelett...
And who would want to start the car with a squishy, fragile eggshell?

Just sent an email but I figured I’d ask it here for the benefit of others:

I’m looking to order a key blank - how do we know if we have the long or short Lexus key?

'Long' blank is about 1-3/4"

I'll have this pic on the site soon, but I'll post here for folks, too. Credit card height, for reference.

FYI. BLACK is IN STOCK! I had 100+ on hand, but somehow set inventory on the site to 0, so it wasn't available for at least a week. I thought you guys randomly stopped liking black when the orders switched over to all colors. Now it all makes sense, haha.

Fixed now and back in stock.
