BOOOOOOO!sssssssssssssss!

I have a kill switch and a club on mine. The wheel is turned all the way one way when parked. They have to remove or cut the steering wheel first to load it up. Plus all my neighbors smoke a lot so usually somebody is always outside smoking and would probably keep bandits away. I also have pretty good theft insurance. This is a new area for me. So far so good. First sign of trouble though and I will get lojack or something.

I thought I was between the rust, ripped up interior, dusty dash, and peeling paint. I have a feeling that someone wanted a toy for the holiday weekend so they could go thrash in the desert or someplace.

Just in case the tweaks take it north I will BOLO in the Eastern Sierras.

Good luck.

I'm not sure which definition of BOLO you mean but either work for me ( a super large autonomous tank or a phillipino machete). You have my permission to use whatever means to get the job done of getting my rig back.

Haha, it's Be On the Look Out.

Doubt I'll see it out here, but I'll look out here as well. Hope you get her back—

I'm contacting as many local shops in this area as well. I'm giving them flyers if they'll post them.

Post on expeditionportal.com forum as well, they get a lot of traffic. Also, I recommend posting links to this thread in the clubhouse and chitchat forums here on mud.

Also post on the Jeep forum since there are many and they'll spot it since the thief will take this to remote location/ off road.

Sorry to hear of your loss. Just brought a 87 60 up to Vancouver BC fro mUpland CA.
Check the local CL every day and will keep my eye open for yours.
Best of luck

That's what I thought for my beat up 4runner that disappeared!...

Is this one in your area?

Thanks for the kind words and advice everyone.

Copart.com looks like a great website to try to track down mine or a new one. That one is not close to me, but a good tip none the less.

I am proof that 60s do find their way back. Good luck!!
Please share, how did yours make it's way back? I'm considering all strategies at this point....

I remember your thread. It was the reason I started to think about re-keying my rig. I should have rekeyed. So many people in your thread claim that a kill switch will prevent theft. I had a kill switch hidden and someone still stole it. The nice thing about TBI motors is that when the fuel pump switch is off it wont move at all as compared to carb motors that will run for a little bit as it sucks that gas out of the sump. The theft of mine might be an outlier but it proves that kill switch does not prevent all thefts.

Also to respond to the thought that a gun, gun related stickers, or a big nasty dog prevents theft as these were listed in the above thread link posted by NLXTACY, I also live in a "safe city" in CA. These stickers invite police to search your car. And honestly, how many people could actually pull the trigger when they have a bead on a thief? Probably not as many as people like to think that they could. I own guns, use them to hunt and kill four-leggeds and I'd really not like to have to pull a gun on a thief. And a dog? Please dont abuse a dog by putting it in the way of a meth-head. They'll kill your dog and then still steal your car.

Thank you.

I called the police yesterday to find out if maybe after the weekend it was found. In a very happy voice I was told "Nope it's still listed as stolen." The tone of the guys voice was a nice touch I thought, a nice thick layer of poo-frosting on the cake of my life right now.

X200 what Rugy says "Check the Craigs List everyday" Bad people do bad things and sell them on there. Be careful if you find it and go to pick it up
