Yeah that’s what the guy here said too… prob pressed on and not meant to come off. My fellow nurse friend thinks I should spray inside the cage and remaining housing w/ a bleach solution and use a toothbrush to clean the guts out. The rest of the body will dry out in time. 🤮

I wouldn't use bleach, even a dilute solution, if you can't fully rinse it. You might get some corrosion. Best to use Lysol or some other mild anti-bacterial/viricide.

Fabuloso is nasty stuff (Formaldehyde) but kills everything. Plus, your car will then smell like the bathroom at your local Puerto Rican restaurant!

Rico Suave!

Not super worried about killing stuff… the cage did a pretty good job. Jason was driving it when it happened, I got stuck w/ the smell. “Oh that must have been the loud ‘whack, flap flap flap’ noise!”
I want it to dry out fast. Temps are high here right now, 90’s and humid. I suppose maggots will happen none the less. Windows are closed for now.

Boy, this conversation got real.... poor mouse.

A mouse crawled into the fresh air inlet on my RAV4 and had babies on top of the particulate filter, which is a direct drop down from the cowl air inlet. I used to keep the system inlet on fresh air, but now I only do that when I'm driving, and keep it on recirc when it's parked. Similar issue as you, but at least the particulate filter captured the rotting stuff. Big disinfectant cleanup job.

100* driving an non-ac 60 sucks the life right out of you. At least all the windows roll down now.

240 ac isn’t so bad.
I’m super dufus literal… are you saying the 60 is just a big bubble? I did this diagram in front of my kid. 🤣🤣🤣

Stock FJ60 front door speaker depth is only 1-1/8".
So you just measure what’s already there or is it the depth accounting in the window when rolled down?

I may have a few used speaker pairs - some Clarions and some stock FJ60. Or are you looking for something newer/better?

I bought these new for my '86 FJ60, not expensive at all - $34.49 a pair:

I believe I have these same speakers in mine. Using the 3D printed adapters from @TheNeek which spaces them out a bit to help clear the window regulator and whatnot in there. Works great for me and everything clears. HTH

I used some shallow depth JBLs from Crutchfield with The Neek's adapters and they just clear in the front. Had to bend the speaker terminal tabs to get the wiring to clear the window path. The ones I got were about $50 as I recall but you could get cheaper ones.
