So a couple of washers took care of things - I added one on each to make it look like it was supposed to be that way lol.

Started the radiator fluid fill but of course I couldn't find a small funnel to pour into the hose that feeds inside. Will try to pickup some small ones tomorrow. Should help with the "burping" process.

And happy to have the front end back on! finally took on a sheared off bolt drill out project and manage to snap off my tap. But was able to get it out thankfully.

The front end is so faded that the newly painted bib hinge kinda stands out a bit. Should fade to match in about 20 years... ;)

Wow just about everything looks brand new under the hood now!
Is the bib hinge using Toyota paint code?
I need to throw a coat of paint on the ignition coil and rehab the blower - I've seen others do their blowers on this site and it sure looks good. But first I want to get this thing running again as I really miss driving it... :(

Well finally got it all put back together! Of course I realized the rear heater hoses had a little guide to run through after the fact. This after filling the system with radiator fluid. I tried running them through the guide and of course they were too short. Oh well, back to their old location. Those hoses weren't cheap I will live with it.

And of course in the assembly process the radio antenna came unplugged. Nothing can be easy. Had to take apart the head unit but fortunately I had plenty of slack to pull it all the way out and get the antenna plugged back in.

And I knew I couldn't wait for the ignition coil. Easy job should look good in there with all the other shiny stuff!

That air cleaner can pass for NOS. Did you post how you clean that up or did I miss it?

You know what you have to do next? You need brighten up that Toyota plate below the coil...or better yet, scrub all the red panels in the engine compartment, and it'll look like a show car. I bet the paint inside is not that faded if you rub it with something like Nu Finish.

I got lucky and purchased one that was in good shape. I taped over the decal and then just gave it a fresh coat of paint. The decal isn't perfect but it's close enough.

Funny I tried cleaning one of those engine panels and it didn't clean up at all. But I didn't try a wax. Maybe I'll try that someday... :)

So the shiny stuff keeps distracting me... Everything else looks so nice in the engine compartment that I couldn't let the fan blower look like it does. So that project has been started.

So I need to do some research on what people are using to rehab the plastic. I don't think I want to paint it but there are some better products out there now for plastic. We shall see...

Interesting that they used like a cloth tape to seal the seams of the motor cover on this thing. I will use something different.

You are knock'en that TLC out of the park...

Do you have access to a "Steam Jenny"? Cuts crude like a hot knife through butter. Most equipment rental stores will have a form steam cleaner. Practice on something old a greasy before you point it at your engine compartment.

I have some left over closed cell foam I used on my heater rehab. Send me an address and I'll Kick some over the fence to you..I also used 3M double sided automotive tape for adhesion. Take a look at the "facelift" for pics. I took a tip from @Weber Sarge and lubed all the moving internals before reassembly..Spins like a top!!

Thanks Chunga!

Can anyone tell me the purpose of having a full piece of foam on the little flap door inside the fan blower housing? I understand creating a seal, however it appears you really only need that around the edge of the door where the door meets the housing.

Because that's how it came from the factory;) actually it was probably easier to cover the whole flap then make a perimeter gasket.
