Just catching up on this. For the record. I was banned from the group, but not after I got a few replies in. The two admins who were supporting Joey (infact were talking down about the people who were taken advantage of) have been added to my list of people who will have registrations cancelled at Cruise Moab.

I'm 100% ok with cancelling some bullies from cruise Moab, that's just some toxic b.s. that nobody needs.

yes I know of it, I don't condone anything joey did especially stealing money from people but IMO if you are in charge of registratons at an event like Cruise Moab and cancelling peoples registration because you have a personal beef with them that's just childish and of poor form. I hope I am misunderstanding the prior post.
I didn’t actually cancel anyone. I have a personal list of people who have done things like ripping off members of the community. This year, no one on said list actually registered, so I had no reason to bring it up with the committee. Had anyone actually signed up, I wouldn’t straight ban them, but I would bring up why we as a committee might want to consider it. Throughout the years, I think we have only actually asked 3 people not to come back, and they were all for good reason.
I can understand that if it is done in a democratic way via a committee. Apologies for my misunderstanding.

What's the connection to Romero? Hard to believe there are many customers willing to plunk down that much money for a seat upgrade.
An unfortunate situation especially when new owners come in all the time and don’t know what they don’t know. Back when Mud was the hub, the community helped raise red flags more effectively; now the conversation is scattered across social media platforms, where these vendors have lines in the water and market freely. I met a guy recently who bought from a vendor mentioned in this section multiple times with no idea of the vendors track record and reached out asking if I knew anything about them. That’s the whole play. They don’t need the entire community, just a steady trickle of new, unsuspecting people. That’s how a con sustains itself: avoid the informed, target the uninitiated. Add in people who will continue defending a vendor who has a documented history of fraud, and it’s easy to see how confusion keeps the cycle going.
