There was an LLC at some point but I have no clue in what way it was tied to the business besides the fact the credit charges came from it: Clandestine Lab Partners, LLC

most likely that is his LLC name, which can be anything, and then he had the wits end name as a "doing business as".....

I'm sure there is more than one person here lurking who has consulted an attorney and they have told them if it's even worth their time or not. I know I have been screaming for months for guys to hurry up and take it to small claims before it's too late, looks like that time has passed. Kinda surprised nobody had done that...

You're probably right, and perhaps they're just waiting for the final disposition of the bankruptcy and liquidation proceedings.
It's also entirely possible that they were told by a couple of shockingly honest attorneys that the only person getting paid would BE the attorneys.

It's a s***ty situation that really has no positive outcome for any of us.

I'm out of the loop and have been removed from the other 80 communities besides this one for my refusal to quit crapping on His Joeyness and calling him out.

Bro, not saying that you feel bad, but don't feel bad about being removed from other 80's series groups by the Joey fanboi's.
I was, and notice how I said was, and admin on a Toyota 80's series Land Cruiser page on Facebook.
When the Joey drama saga started getting posted awhile back, I expressed my concerns to other admins about Joey being able to post on that page, because I felt it wasn't setting a good example letting him be on a page where he had screwed other people out of their money, regardless of his situation. That message fell on deaf ears.
This past Monday evening another Joey/Wit's End post got posted, and the comments started going crazy. I took matters into my own hands, and banned Joey(who I found out was also and admin on that page) from that page. Well, in doing so, I am now banned & blocked from being able to even find that page.
And honestly if they want to ban me from a page for doing the right thing, and removing a crook & thief from the group, then I want nothing to do with that community. All it does is show that they support every bad decision that he has made and that they will stand behind him no matter how many times he does wrong.
It cracks me up how many people believe that Joey Romero is white knight, riding around on a white horse and can do no wrong, or that he is going to rise like a phoenix from the ashes, and just all of the sudden is going to turn into a good person
Actually it's really scary, and people need to quit drinking the Jim Jones Kool-Aid.

Trust me when I say I have NO hard feelings about that.
I actually think it's pretty damn funny and am more than happy to see the 80 community eat its own in favor of a pirate.

I've been pretty vociferous in speaking up against his Joeyness, and after the screwing that myself and the rest of the turbo guys took, I'm pretty amazed it's just me...
I probably stood up for the little longer then I should have and that misjudgment of character is on me. Hell, I still believe that he didn't start out with financial sodomy in mind, but the fact that A, he let things get that bad and B, tried to hide from us.... that sealed the deal.

It is what it is and at this point, I think I'm about done worrying about it.

Yep! That's the post that was the final nail in the coffin on why I banned Joey. I also personally reached out to Jason and told him I was deleting his post as well because the Joey drama was ridiculous. Jason was cool with it, and turned off the comments, then someone deleted his post before I could. Next thing I know admin took away my privileges and banned me from the page. But whatever tis what it tis.
What's sad is how in that message that was sent to Jason, whoever pretty much admitted they are aware of all the wrong Joey committed...yet they still stand by him amd turned their back on someone for doing right.

The strange thing will be if he ever shows his face at an event again. I saw banners of his in events in Kentucky, they had one of his blenders as a raffle prize. All the money issues aside what happened, and the aftermath with the lack of comms, shows your true character and that says a lot more.

I've a buddy who crossed paths with a couple of his minions at an overlanding event last year and it sounds like they made a hasty retreat when the questions got hard.

I think he'd be best served by staying under his rock...

I'm a pretty level headed guy these days, but the Dave of ten years ago would have driven to Medford months ago.

They're not doing us favors by taking our money, either they provide the service/product that was paid for or it is unacceptable. Enough with the cheerleading and excuses for thieves and scammers. If someone has an issue it should be addressed, not shot down. This same circumstance has repeated itself countless times with other vendors and even after the smoke had cleared and guys had been blatantly scammed they were still shot down.....unacceptable.

It's hard to care too much at this point though, my 80 is for sale and I have too many other rigs to play with to give much of a duck about who's blowing who in the parts community.
I expected better of Dave though...

John Willenborg - AKA - OWL VAN ENGINEERING is one of the best companies out there, especially for reputation and communications, not to mention liquidity.... I've built 2 frame off rigs for him and he is the most stand up person I know in this industry. To simply be scoffed at and waived off with " instructions" is a joke.

He and I are working on these along with many other 80 products since this s*** went down....

Look into Road Armor........... Same s***... different story. They have several partners and file bankruptcy every few years and move on leaving suppliers and fabrication shops in their wake. My current powder coater was a reseller for Road Armor and got stuck for thousands and sued for products that weren't supplied after sales were made by RA.

A few complete douches make it harder to trust anyone.

That said, you just reminded me to order the 100 body lift that you got restocked within a week or two of someone asking, and the rear seat delete platform brackets. And I know with a high degree of certainty that you will ship exactly what I ordered promptly, and it will be a great product.

That post didn't age well. I have many thousands of dollars worth of DeltaVS products on my LX450 and I am disappointed that Dave thought it was wise to publicly support Wits End.

I mean, the writing has been on the wall for YEARS that Wits End was having severe issues. I quickly learned of it when I got back into this hobby 3 years ago and I was surprised at the time that people not only gave Joey Romero a pass, but also coming after people who dared to post about issues with Wits End.
