Tried to sell it in Fairbanks AK for 3 days, several lookers. If it had the cold winter package block trans and battery heater it would of sold.
I will try and keep till it doesn't pass emissions or something major goes wrong.
Made it all the way up to AK and part way up the Dalton and did some four wheeling with just front wheel drive. I put the rear driveshaft back on and drove it back to Colorado. Had no issues. The CE light never came on with all the city driving I did in Fairbanks. Normally I get code 25 26 with city driving. Not sure if it was from changing from RotellaT 5w40 syn oil to Delo 400 dino oil or if it was that AK doesn't have ethanol in their gas (so I was told up there)?
What, if any, internal work has the engine received on its journey to 460k?View attachment 1395470 460,000 mi. This might be the big last milestone for the 80 with me depending on what I buy when I get back from AK . Been sniffing out a new daily driver FRS, 944 or other. If I get a car then I will probably keep the 80 as a snow vehicle.
The 80 is not going to Alaska again this year. Going to fly up this time and buy something up there to put around with. Anyone with a cheap reliable (and I mean cheap) let me know as I will be in Fairbanks![]()
No motor repairs sense I bought it at 208,000. Did a ton of PM when I got it like new wheel bearings, seals, tuneups etc.
I think the 80 has paid for its self and has used up all its value. A junk dealer only offered me $300 for it.
